Rummaging through some old photos and I found these pictures taken in 1981 or 1982 of my 1966 Mustang.

I should add that I bought this car in 1979. I had a few years to work on it.

My first was a '66 Mustang, dark blue. I had a few motorcyles before that though.

What happened to it, if you don't still have it?

My first was a '65 Pontiac Tempest that I brought back from rust bucket. Its end came when a van rear-ended it and the insurance only gave me the bare minimum for it, claiming that it was too old and didn't have a blue book value. We ended up buying it back from the insurance company and using as a utility vehicle for awhile, sans trunk, and then gave it to my cousin as her car.

I sold it when I joined the Navy. On the one hand, I'm sorry I got rid of it. On the other, I'm not really thrilled with working on cars anymore and I absolutely loath having to work on a "daily driver". Nowadays, I can afford to have a "hobby" car. Twenty years ago, I don't think I could have managed it.

What memories...driving though Florida thunderstorms in a car that has side curtains, two speed wipers (on and off), and a defroster that fogged glass better than my breath.
