I looked at his site... If he's so sure he's right, why resign?

did you listen to the statements and the reaction from the panel he was sitting with. Nobody seemed to care.

My take... good discussion completely overblown out of proportion.

I don't like Rush, but he should have stuck to his guns and stayed at ESPN. In my book, he loses points for running away and playing the "liberal biased media victim" card.

Shockingly, I have to agree with Sandman.  Backing out looks like an admission of guilt, and IMO he didn't do anything wrong.  The drive to bring more blacks into NFL coaching and quarterback positions is well documented, and a legitimate topic for an NFL show.

By leaving now he can blame it on the libral media who are obviously conspiring to get him.

If "they" (the libral media) weren't so "Desirous" to promote a social reform in NFL football with their unconstitutional quota system, Rush wouldn't have had to stand up for what is moral and right by speaking out.

Those damn LIBRALS are everywhere!

Where is J. Edgar Hoover when we need him - he would have put a lid on these communist terrorist-loving librals.

And he would have done it with flair, style, fishnets and a boa!

I agree,
When did we all become such little girls that we can't handle a little criticism?

All of a sudden no one can voice an opinion with out someone being “offended”

Let me ask you…quick think of someone in history, Okay. Now let me ask you did HE/SHE over piss anyone off. I bet they did. My point is no one leads without offending someone. But they lead regardless.

damn I think that is worthy of it's own post...

Rush decided to grind his affirmative action axe at an inappropriate time.  He may be right, McNabb might not be a great quarterback.  I hope he stinks on ice this Sunday against the skins.  But give the guy some credit.  By saying that the man's past kudos were happenning  because the press wants to promote a black quarterback is ludicrous.  There have been plenty of black quarterbacks - like the skins own Doug Williams.  Its not like anyone has to promote this idea.  And Ill bet that the Eagles would trade McNabb if he wasnt cutting it, for someone who was black, yellow, white pink blue or plaid if he could win football games.

Rush's comments show the mindset of someone who thinks in racial terms, but what he said was not overtly racist.  OTHER things that Rush has said demonstrate that he is a racist, and lets face it, there arent many blacks in his target audience.  He does not need to pander to blacks

Rush is entitled to his opinion, but by expressing it in his anti-affirmative action context he sold McNabb short, BECAUSE McNabb is black.  THat is the racist part.  McNabb doesnt belong here but is anyway because he is black.  The message was laid right out there.  It was stupid and everyone got covered in the poo.

And I dont agree with you about the other panelists not even caring, they all jumped in to defend McNabb's plaing abilities.  That ESPN show sucked anyway.  Rush didnt fit in there.
