I didn't realize they went by another name - cool.

For cripes sake!  I amazes me how much people wish to stay blind to the world around them!

If you are having a red make it a French, perferably Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Côtes de Rhône.

If white, then make it German from the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer regoin.

Speaking of blind....California/Washington state wines surpassed French/German quality along time ago. (And, we don't have any desire to use anti-freeze to sweeten them, waves to French!)

Define quality please :)

Quality perhaps but taste and variety are a work in progress ...

Not that make US wine bad but as I know there is far less choices in the US just because the producers I've tryed have some stéréotyped wines just like the Bordeau selected by Parker (may he rot in hell :D)

I prefer regionnal personality and sometime errors to standardisation (worst of all being "Beaujolais Nouveau")

Steve what is your prefered meal ?
if it's a swedish thing please give me a link to the recipe I'm pretty  ignorant of scandinavian cooking (except the finnish one but you're not finnish :p)

ruined me from wine in 1984 when I was 15.  I still can't even hardly smell any wine or champain without gagging. :(

so Regan had something to do with Libyan wine?   I didn't know they even made a wine in libya.    sonds like something made up from some whacko liberal french wine site.

I think Regan was responsiible for California wine but he claims he can't remember.

You know, Ive been been meaning to learn more about wine.  I like certain red's - but I dont know much about the history or the culture associated with wine.

Could anyone recommend any good books?  Wine Snobbary for Dummies or something?

I've got relatives that own a vineyard in Sonoma Valley.

Peirano Estates Vineyards

I've only tried the red.....not bad....on the dry side.
