Getting tired of the Nik

Sling322: If you would care to read my post and try actually to understand what I was saying, you'd notice that my sayings never did contradict.

My point was: a N1k pilot can turn his nose to face you regardless of the attackers angle. Because n1k rides the stall really well, he can also remain with his nose pointed on the sky long enough to ruin a b&z attack.

Seems like the people who are overprotective about certain planetypes attack others verbally simply because they're limited to a certain type of planes. (Cheap) perking of the planes would then stop the usage of the protectors because they can't earn the 7 perk points needed to fly it. Or am I far off?

You are way off MrRipley.

I protect the N1K2, to leave it as a non-perk, simply because I do not believe it should be removed and it is not THAT much of a threat.

If you are getting killed running a BnZ plan of attack, then you deserve to die. I never have any problems swatting N1K2s out of the sky.

You all really need to re-analyze what you are frustrated with.

You claim it's a N1K2, or headons, or Spits, or F4U-1Cs. I see a running theme here.

Guns or cannons and YOU ARE GETTING HIT BY THEM.

Sorry, you screwed the pooch and you had it coming. Learn from your mistakes, don't make it so if you make mistakes you still can't possibly get killed.

Getting lamer and lamer by the day.

SWulfe: I was only commenting to the HO part of the original post.

I have no problems killing n1ks after I accepted that I have to extend from them if I don't manage to kill them instantly.

N1k does have a couple points which are a tad hard for me to swallow and those are yawless zoom climbs and incredible dive speed / handling. Compare Ki-61 and a n1k when you pull them vertical into a stall speed.. Pretty big difference.

Yeah, I can get the Ki61 to do loops where the plane is only going 100MPH and only 50MPH at the vertex.

Them things are UFOs, the ultimate N1K2 killer. <G>

perking the nik would be ok but then what would you do about the spit?

I think this whole mess is pointing out the silliness of the idiotic perk system.   I am mediocre but if I wanted to I could fly the Chog every sortie forever.   Who would I fly against?   New guys who couldn't fly the Chog or not fly it enough to get good in it.   Same would go for the spit or the nik... I got like 1500 perk points and will never use a single one because I think they are wrong... that means, I will not fly the Chog... Perk the nik and I won't fly it... perk the spit and it's out too.... Wonder how long it will be before the dHog is perked?  When I got to worry about what planes I can fly because of the idiotic perk system then that is the day I find another sim.

I do believe that the P51 should be about 100 perk points thos because every one used is one less fighter in the game.

Don't stall-fight a N1K, it'll eat you for lunch unless you are in a Zero.  N1K's will always try to HO, and they will often take long-range shots hoping to get lucky hits.  Me-thinks a lot of people are stall-fighting N1K's, or bouncing them over-eagerly and getting into HO situations, both bad news.  N1K's just take some special prep-time to set up to kill, you can't just rush in.  The Spit's are also bad matches in my experience for going up against N1K's (though a number of people don't feel that is the case).

La7's rule N1K's...

it seems the furball crowd whines the loudest about the n1k - the only thing required in a furball is the ability to fly around in a circle while people crash near you for kills -

if you perk the n1k the next cannon totin turner will be next. above 5k in actual combat they are like little kittens.

hiya all:

well I've been shot down by lots of N1K's, and Ive shot down lots of N1K's. I have no problem with them either way.

And as I am not flying right now, it is true they perked the F4U-C. how stupid, no plane is any better then the pilot flying it. hell a good pilot can rak up the kills in a 202. I ean look at the tempest, its a perk plane and I do not think I ever had a problem with a tempset. when I saw a tempst, it was just another plane that would kill me or I would kill it. oh yeah 4 20mm cannons is much better if you go for the HO shot, but other then that it will take some skill.

hey heres an idea, put Bloom25 in a 202, and put 5 newbies in F4U-C's or N1K's or any 4 cannon plane. and I bet Bloom25 takes out all 5 newbies.
Why, because he wont go for the HO and will out fly the newbies. better pilot skills.

well thats how I look at it, the better pilot will have a better chance no matter what he is flying and what he is flying against.
