Given how the famous are often the targets of frivolous, vindictive, or greed-driven lawsuits I was prepared to give Michael the benefit of the doubt. Or at least a modicum of sympathy. After all, the mother of the boy in question supposedly visited Jackson's home along with her husband and with child in tow. She said she was uncomfortable around Michael.
If I were uncomfortable about a stranger being around MY young child I for dang sure wouldn't allow that child to spend the night alone with said stranger. One of the country matron's whose presence graced my childhood would have said that the woman had "...a bad case of the simples!" Amen to that.
Or, perhaps, she has a hidden agenda. $$$
At least, that's how I saw the situation in the beginning. However, the statement by Jermaine totally put me off. The cry of "Racism!" is a cheap ploy to obscure the seriousness of the charges. The Jackson family's decade's long popularity, among both blacks and whites, would seem to belie the cry of "redneck bigotry." If Michael sexually molested that child it's a serious matter. A VERY SERIOUS MATTER INDEED! It shouldn't be allowed to be obscured by that type of cynical smokescreen.
My advice to the Jackson family would be to hire the best lawyers that money can buy and force the prosecutors to prove their charges in front of an impartial jury. Take the high ground of innocent indignation...fight the accusations tooth and toenail. And as far as the racist hyperbole is concerned, they should SHUT THE H_ _ _ UP!
