Yo Skuzzy re ahfilms

Don't know if this is the right forum but I got a couple of questions about AH films.

1st Question : when i make a film the view is always off center and to the right within the cockpit.  The gun-sight is not within the projection area ( can see the reflector but no gun-sight).  Is there a way to remedy this?  I can center (almost) the view but as soon as any looking around for SA occurs it goes back to the off center view.

2nd question : when I try to convert the entire film to AVI it fails?  I try to convert the entire film and was wondering if I need to restrict the size? or stop recording the film before it runs out?

Example 5:33 minutes stop recording at 5:30 or somethin?

View is still not centered and getting loss of sound in some recordings now?

Do I need a reinstall????

Is it my vid card perhaps?  or sound card?? or AH???

Not sure what could cause the pilot view to be off center.  I have never seen that one before.

To convert the film to AVI, then film must be in the "films" folder of the Aces High install directory and you need the correct codec.

Of interest ...

F1 does not center the view it places it in the same place which is to the right (quite abit) and a bit up from center.  Home ? haven't tried that yet.

Looking at the screen in AHfilm viewer the 2 rectangles that show your reference points ... the one on the right is a little high and the one on the bottom is a bit to the right.

It does not seem to matter what plane I use all views of films come out to the right (quite abit) and abit high.

I can create avi's if I stop the process before it finishes.  If I let it finish it locks up and the avi file is not recognized by anything I have.

I can view the avi's in either MS or quicktime viewers but only if I stop the process before it completes.

ATI Radeon 9000 pro here.  SB512 Soundcard.

F1 puts you in the saved F1 position. For example, if you're in-game and sitting in the default position, you can adjust the position and save it. F1 will take you to this saved position. Home puts you in the default forward looking position. If home works, hit f10 while its in the right spot. I don't know anything about creating avi's, can't help ya there.

How long is the film?  If you are using a FAT32 filesystem and the AVI gets to/over 4GB in size, then it will not work.

skuzzy, that head not centered thing i gte also.

im not sure with what planes but generally its a 190d (i dont fly a ton of planes.)

for me the film always shows the default head position above and to the left. i can hit the "home" button and it goes to where it should be but as soon as the view is changed it goes back to the upper left.

its also weird with the other views. if i use the hat to look around and examine the film the "center piont" of view is off to that upper left position.

is it maybe because i have moved and saved all of my own head positions (different from the default even for the center view)?

Hmmm JB73 sounds like you have just the opposite of me.

Could it be due to my screen res?  1024x768?

Would it improve if I went to 800x600?

Note re "home" key even when i use it it makes no difference to my recordings!

But same for me as JB73... press home and get view until I look around then returns to off center view.

I found that in my case the plane does NOT matter.
