Here's a site for finding out the meaning of pretty much any acronym: http://catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/frames.html

...but apparently not this one, though they include others that contain the F word.

edited - removed stupid comment.

On topic:
We could use MORE moderators, still way too much clutter on ch1... and one should not be forced to pick between spending 20 minutes typing his own squelch list since someone here still blalantly refuses to put up with a squelch list ....  or playing the game.

Maybe a log is kept and has to be submitted whenever a mute is applied and you just don't see it.

Well BT, unless the rules for these anonyjerks have changed since I quit flying alot, there's not a list.  Not even an objective set of guidelines, and the anonyjerks can and do abuse the system where someone they don't like is concerned.  There's at least 2 that mute me any time I say *anything* on channel 1.  I once got muted for answering a noob's question, and it was the first thing I had said on channel 1 in 2 days.  This is why I don't really fly much anymore.

Then there's 1 who I guess thinks I'm ok.  I've had a conversation or two with this one, me talking on ch1 and they using thier popup boxes, telling me I was pushing too hard and to calm down.  Hell this worked better than just a straight mute, 'cause I pretty much forgot what set me off in the place.

Then there's the times when people have been muted and left wondering why when there's a political debate going on on channel1 and it's starting to get real nasty, but there's never a let up in it from either side.  But I'm stuck muted for telling someone they made a handsomehunk move after they whined at me cause they got shot down.  /shrug

Now, all this may have changed, I really don't have any idea.  I don't fly much anymore because of this, and I damn sure don't enter the arena with my usual "Hello again, my excellent friends" that I've used since beta so when I do fly, the anonyjerks don't know it until I land kills.

Damn, Cavey, I can't imagine why a model citizen like you would ever be muted.

I still remember that Afrika Korps scenario when Swoop and I shot him down. :aok

What is it with this place recently. Just when we've got a handle on tards like SOB (ha! ;)), enter the stage left the weirdest bunch of people I've had the misfortune to meet.

Sure is entertaining though. Keep it up!

lol Don't blame me - it was Frenchy who led the squadron on that first mission where we got bounced by 109s and half the squad ran out of fuel before being shot down. :)

Speaking of Dudule - does he still play AH?

I've news from time to time he will give a try to AHII TOD when availlable but I don't think he'll come back ...

"nothing at all was said about language"

You're a stump. No doubt about it.
The deliberate typing of swearing, being crass/obnoxious, deliberately disruptive or lamely trying to hide intent or context via mispellings are the ONLY reasons  one will get muted or have problems with a moderator.  All of that is via text "language."

" I have read the TOS several times.."

But you cannot do a board "search"?  lol.  I'll say it again moron. Do a search on "censorship" and you will see that HTC has already outlined thier policy several times. I honestly don't think they give two cheesez  about you and your ludicrous self imposed "championing" of imagined "players rights"  to explain it again to someone as thick as you.

"You speak for all ehhh Grizz?"

Much more so than you I'd wager.

I love it when somebody comes to the BBS to garner support to change HTCs' business operating environment ... "so lets bounce this Moderator crap to the curb and gutter where it belongs and rid the text buffer of Big Brother!!!"

You make it sound like we have the power, thru consensus, to change what HTC does with their business. I would bet that none of us are on HTCs' Board of Directors, so our vote does not count.

I would like to see MORE moderator intervention. I hate it when someone sparks some political and/or religious conversation that then takes over the buffer for the next hour or so. I hate it when people use the "all" channel to first taunt someone and then the insults fly for the next 15 minutes or so.

As far as I am concerned, the text channels are to be used for in-game chat that is cordial and/or has to do with the game at hand. Anything outside of that, are actionable by the moderators and if you get muted for crossing that boundry ... tuff shizit for you.

If you get muted ... suck it up ... and as Steve said ... learn from it.

The key to winning any argument in regards to freedom of speech is presenting your points in a manner that doesn't make everyone else wish you'd just shut the **** up.

It seems that all of you are very ready to lay down and accept whatever is handed out just so you can play this game, I on the other hand am not afraid to air it out and get it laid out so that it can be applied fairly to all, in its current condition that cant happen, if your all to blinded to see that then you will richly deserve what you get. Moderators can and have abused their power and thats simply because its open ended. If they bounce me outta here so be it, but I will say my peice, if ya dont uinderstand it, dont like it or what ever thats ok, its of no import to me, but for a company to allow this to go on is no good for the community at large and you are not even remotely a cross section of AH and neither am I but I took the shot ! All of you have made it apparent your willing to lay down and take dictation even though you pay for it I guess that means you should have no input on how the community is handled. To set you highbrows straight I havent often ran into a problem with this Moderator grinch but I did tonite and it was absolutely stupid on the Moderators part, we were discussing freedom, a certain player was getting called down by a fairly large group, I simply pointed out that he had a right to his opinion and that is part of what our service to the country was all about, it was then I was told I was disrupting game play! A text buffer disrupts game play, now theres and interesting point. So I the said we needed to dissolve the moderators position, muted again, cant say what ya think, cant disrupt game play with a text buffer, this is stupid, this is Moderator abuse, Moderator input wasnt needed here, there wasnt any foul language, any rude behaviour etc, attitudes wer being expressed, was it the right so called forum maybe not but who cares it wasnt offensive to anyone but this Moderator just had to exercise the position and this is what my gripe is define so we dont have this kind of crap. HTC dont want to define it because they want a sitter to look after you so that they dont have to be bothered with their business! And in fact Grizz with this Moderator a good majority did have a problem, but you just cant manage to see that from your high moral ground. I guess that being muted tonite for the first time in the 3 or 4 years of playing this game must make me one of the more abusive and offensive players no doubt, the gall to bring up an issue like this is so foreign to the rest of you that you need to make personal attacks rather that just to address the issue I brought up, so online your stellar little people but here in the BBS you can let your hair down and let the real you shine !!!

I got muted first time couple of days back by saying : " Golly-geeMIT what shot was that" when a NIKI shot me makign 9 gīs and climbing..

Then the hounds came... At channel 1 people started yelling : that for sure deserves to be muted... and w/o warning 10 minutes penalty..

Well what I wonder is that how in hell you cant stand normal language which didnīt involve body fluids, sexualism or other usually used vulgarities..???

Well, nowadays I just use Finnish to swear and I can lash my tongue as much as I want , and my pals have fun..

But still... Golly-geemit??? whats wrong about it..? I donīt go to the church, hope that pisses someone off too...
