okay..I've been drinking alot of jack. Been listening to some hardcore heavy metal and now I find my self here....wtf ehhh?

I see so many peps here bashing the USA for Iraq... but I was thinking that perhaps they need a insight into the mind of at least batdog of why I view this as the correct action.

you see..i was raised on the mythology of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood ect that we where the guys with the white hat. You see...goto CNN.com and look at all those men and women who have died in that conflict...look at those picture/faces and try to feel what/why they did as Americans..or Brits or hell, Italians as well. You see in the USA we are taught that there is a "black" and a "white"...good vrs evil from birth. 2 world wars on our land as the EURO's have experienced havent given us the same cynism seen by our allies (yes ALLIES despite our differences) the Germans and French. We see Iraq and we see 400,000 mass graves of women and childrean. We see a government that would kill its own to stay in power....no matter the cost.

You see we, Americans, still believe in good/evil. We see our selfs as on the side of good.... perhaps this is flawed..but this is how I myself, Batdog have been raised. I was taught to protect the weak... I was taught to love my freedom. i was taught that as Americans we where suppose to nurture freedom at any cost.
My grandpa was the first wave in Normandy... his buddies where from Bedford Va...a couple of miles from where I live.... and to this day he has no regrets. He says "it was good vrs evil" pure and simple. Yea..thats considered so naive by todays standards... but thank god for that stupid idealism, right Franch and England?

****..I have no idea why I'm bothering to post this..except all those pic's of soldiers fallen and some JD has stired my pathatic soul.

Anyway our boys/gals and all our allies who ahve or will fall for idealistic, silly concepts like the ideal of freedom.

May whatever God{s} you worship be with you.

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

I'm not really sure if Nim is still playing, I haven't been in almost a year so couldn't tell ya for certain.

its all good bro... dont take  my comment to heart. The intial post was froim the heart... as trashed as i am but its real. Wife hide the jack..told me to save it for my family...lol. We're just abunch of good ol'boys. Golly-geen... I miss so many of my bros that are gone

Well said Batdog, that's pretty much how I see Americans too. Idealists sometimes a bit naive but open and always ready to talk and listen. We all know the negative stereotypes.  Americans nearly always see themselves as the good guys and thank goodness you mostly are.

There is a cynicism and realism borne of history and experience in Europe generally that hardly exists in America. It does lead to many misunderstandings on this board as much as anywhere.
