Why say that Pongo? Are you implying thats how I would behave?   I agreed with large number of things Clinton, he is a Democrat, did and I disagreed with some too. But yes I imagine all of the partisan types would switch sides, and it would be the same just reversed.

Give him credit for pulling it off. Imagine the thoughts of the people who protect him, "we're going where?, when?, boy, this guy has some balls".

It shows the troops that they are not alone in taking all the risk while the decision makers sit in a cozy office.

however can anyone account for GWBs time spent AWOL during vietnam as a member of the Texas ANG?

That's odd.  I've never seen any documents charging Bush of being AWOL.  Could you give me some links?

I'm curious what the visit by the US CinC does for morale of the troops?

Just asking, since it doesn't seem like a factor that would improve morale. Getting real cooked food every day, some beer, and a set of brand new body armor with invincibility mode certainly would be a morale booster for me... I just don't understand how the president does anything for morale?

What I figure happened is that Bush did do some sort of guard duty but his political background helped make sure he didn't goto Vietnam.

Great links.  All they prove was Bush was in the service.

Now you say he did do guard duty?  Do you even know what AWOL means?  

So, I ask again, are you going to substantiate your claims that Bush was AWOL, or should I just file your baseless accusations over there with  Manedunce's blather?

They don't know what the heck to do.  Unemployment rate dropping faster than they can track, all the Democratic candidates making fools of themselves.
