This is a typical BOB unless you can do something about these guys milking England Bases.  Can you increase troops to 25 to capture? This will keep them from milking England bases. This map is for FRance right?

I played all after noon and non of the bases In England were in Fact Milked their was hard fighting around all of them, it was a lot of fun. The Battle is as you say is intended to be in France but realy the Plane set is what matter's and that plane set was in use in England. I intended to take a look at the map late tonight or early Tomarow Morning after the fighting has died down and move the front back to France. I have no intention of increasing the Hardness  beyond 10 Troops it's a huge map and we will get to see more of this way, the front on the Contnent has not moved very much anyway.

I think Magee's point is that it's the "Battle of France" not the "Battle of Britain" but apparently German bases on English soil is such an irresistable lure to most Luftwaffe fans that you WON'T see much of a battle on the continent (given the numbers playing in CT). ;)

Just sayin'.

Happens all the time. :D

By the by .... both carrier fleets have their aircraft disabled, yes? I haven't had a chance to try both sides yet.

well Brady I get sick andf tired of hearing you say "its not what I intended on this map...." then you change something. Well, This is the France BOF so change it. If it were anything else you would.

When I logged in it was 16 LW to 6 RAF/French.  By the time I logged off the numbers were even and the fighting was intense.  I could care less if you take bases or we take bases.  I am more interesed in an even scrap.

JG-3 was hard at it last night and did some good for the Axis side - we'll get them.  I was not too interested in defending FRANCE anyway .....:lol

ok fine have it your way. IN that case just give the CT one map with two bases. Then you can just furball all you want and when it is captured it will simply reset two bases. Remove the "Theme" and just call it the FurBall Arena...much like the TA, and the Capture Arena much like the MA.

I simply complained that Brady "Intended" for this to be the French war (BOF) and the Axis guys took advantage and moved into England. No different than a PTO map and the Tempest being available to the allies and the allies using it. The Axis guys cry thier eyes out when that happens. Im not complaining about the plane set other than if the fight is going to be in England, remove the BOF theme and enable the spits at all fields and call it the BoB.

Better yet ... "Operation Sealion (The weather in the channel was good this time and the British fleet mysteriously sank itself ... AND the Spitfires all turned into P-40s with French markings)." ;)

*ShruG* ... I'm easy just paint the right picture. :D

OK-fine, raise the number of troops, reset the map, give LT. MaGee what he wants. Then we will stay on our side of the water (maybe). But give us the unperked tiger to defend the bases on our front that will be taken by the allies. No wait a minute this would just lead to the same whine with a different theme.

The bottom line is that last night it was actually a Combat Theater. There was an offensive campaign-there were bases taken-bases defended-bases taken back. IT WAS A WELL FOUGHT WAR ON ALL SIDES!

The balance of each side was seen, and good fights were had by all.

I see what Magee is saying, but maybe not for the same reason. For what it is worth I would have rather seen the LW capture most or all of the bases on the East side “before” they hopped over to England. I am not going to lose any sleep over it, but with the low numbers the CT struggles with it does tend to open up multiple fronts and the time to find a fight lengthens. For that reason alone I would avoid those kinds of base captures.

On the flip side it is a lot of fun with be on with your squadies and “reach” for a base that would be out of the norm. I don’t know who captured the bases in England, but I bet they had a lot of fun.

Brady,

There is nothing wrong with this set up. Magee is just mad because we took the initative and the fight to them. If it was intended that the fighting be only in France then England should not be on the map. Well it was and we took advantage of it.
Magee, I don't know what the problem is. You used to be a good guy when we were in the 325th, but man you have become the biggest whiner in the CT. It's a fricken game. Just play it and have fun and give the rest of us a break.

Just think about it for a momment....
If hitler could have done what we did,not saying that he didn't try do you think the front lines would have stayed in france?

You think about it. If Hitler had stopped his invasion of France six hours into the Blitzkreig and tried to invade England at that point would he have been in a better position to carry out an Operation like Sea Lion (which he wasn't in a very good position to carry out even after France was secure)?

Don't confuse this CT setup with any possible reasonable variation of history. It just ain't there. Better to stick with the rationalization of "we did it because we could do it, whatcha gonna do `bout it?!" ;) :aok

If Hitler had been able to capture an airbase in england with 10 men then he likley would have. Especialy if it had majically been in logistical supply as soon as it was captured with a limitless supply of vehicles and aircraft.  Hell he would have tried for a few fields in the US with that kind of capability..but what has that got to do with anything.?

Disable goons and LVTs.

Now England is safe, and the battle goes where it should.
