Skull, you only lose the perks if you get shotdown.;)

Tho I lost 2 262's this tour.... one shotdown while making a cuppa and another diving through ack to kill an enemy 262- doh!:D

P40(E or B) Because you can NEVER lose dogfighting in one.

If somone shoots you down its like "wtg dude, you just shot down a P40."

and.... if you shoot someone else down its like "dude, you just got shot down by a P40."

Either way you win!

heheheh...as proof that i don't run, look at my stats. I get killed more'n anybody in the arena. I gotta learn when to quit, I guess. But I just can't resist jumpin in where angels fear to tread..and I most always pay for it.:D   Others may whine about the shortcomings of this game, but have a ball most every time I'm on.

Weak for the Soviet Planes after spending some time as a Russian Linguist in the Navy.

In game, it's a great mudshark. It's fast on the deck and can mix it up well with La-7s, and 190s while taking the occasional cherry pick of Spits and N1k2s.

P-38

Because the skilless dweebs cant fight in it
Because the skilled vets cant run in it
...and thus they dont fly it.
Because the P-38 can be both an E and T&B fighter
...it will outrun anything it can't out-turn and out-turn anything it can't outrun.
Because the P-38 can be both an excellent fighter and an excellent bomber/attacker.
...whereas the rest of the planeset cant.
Because, as in real life, only the best fly the P-38!

problem with that theory is that in the MA... you are allways around two or three planes... at least one of which can outturn you and at least one of which can outrun you.

that is why the most "popular" planes in this thread are mostly the planes that can outrun allmost anything with very little applied skill and SA.
