Average Joe (SW friendly)

Did anyone watch this show?

It was actually a great insight into the female psych. Basically this hot babe is told she is going to be on a show where a bunch of guys compete for her attention. At the end she ends up with one who hopefully she will find a lifemate in and marry.

What happens is that the guys were all average (that is being kind). See the link below for their pictures.

average joe

Ok as a twist halfway through the competition the show producers set add 3 model type guys to the game. Of course once they show up she has no interest in the average guys anymore.

Here is where the show got really interesting. She basically eliminated the least desirable hot guy and average guy each episode so she ended up with one of the hot guys (Jason) and one of the average guys (Adam) as the last two.

Guess which one she is going to pick and which one she is just humouring but has not interest in?

In the last two episodes the average guy makes a real connection with her and shows himself to be a really nice caring guy. Then she goes to visit them both at their homes. Turns out Jason is still a student and lives at home with his parents.

Adam turns out to be a 27 year old Wall Street trader who owns his own multi million dollar company, has had a feature article in Fortune written about him and has part ownership in a really cool bar and lives in a great riverside apartment in New York City.

So on one hand you have a hot looking guy who lives with his parents and on the other an average looking guy who is a self made multimillionaire and bar owner who is caring friendly and sensitive.

Guess which one she chooses?

I'm sure the SW ladies have some interesting and varied opinions on club owners.  :)

Hmm, does she go off money or looks?  Guess I've gotta try for both, since women sure as hell don't go for a nice personality.  :)

Behold, the power of a gym membership.

You didn't think it was all about intellectually-stimulating conversation, did you?

One thing you have to keep in mind, and I saw this early on, is that this lady was in it from the get-go as a way to further her modeling/acting career.  One of her jobs is to be an entertainer at Kansas City Chiefs games.  She likes the spotlight and the glamour. She needed the television coverage.  She wanted that show almost as much as the show wanted her.  To that end, it makes sense that she would continue with the show, even after it was revealed that none of the guys were particularly striking in a beefcake sort of way.  She never really had any intention of keeping any of the guys in that group.

One other thing worth pointing out is that she was on another tv dating show called "Meet The Parents" where 3 bachelors or bachelorettes compete for a Hawaiian vacation with a beautiful person by enduring the "tests" of meeting the person's parents.  The contestants interact with the person's parents, playing various games, taking a polygraph test, and so forth, and in the end the parents select the person they'd like to see go off with their daughter or son.  She didn't maintain a relationship with that suitor either.

So really, its no surprise that she'd pick some looker.  She wasn't in it for any sort of long-term relationship anyway.  The best the trader could've hoped to be was her sugar daddy.

But don't worry about the trader.  He's got the right plan when it comes to dating.  He wants the girl to want him for who he is, not what he has.  He wouldn't have given her a blank check, and I suspect she knew it.  Therefore, he had no value to her.

Money wins, if she has a brain.  Get hitched, get divorced, get rich, then go back to pretty boy.

I think she was just honest. She fell for the guy she chose the minute she saw him. She was all a flutter...If the other guys had seen that first date they would have packed it in.

No critisim of her that she went for who she was attracted to instead of who could provide for her.

No criticism, just the facts.  People always favor those with the best appearance.  Not knocking it - I do the same thing.  Kinda like how people always look at the tallest person in a group as being the leader.  We trust our eyes to give us clues as to the qualities of people.  People tend to dismiss those whom they see as not being sexually attractive to the opposite sex.

If the guy with money made his fortune with anything other than a lottery ticket or a fat inheritance, he's gonna go with the pre-nup. If he doesn't, he's an idiot. If she insists it's incorrect or immoral or unromantic then she's best to be avoided altogether.

While they're married, sure, share the money like you share bodily fuilds. If and when the sacred bond of marriege is broken, however, all bets are off.

Having said that, yes, go for the money, but be prepared for the long haul(or pull an Anna Nicole Smith and marry an octogenarian in a motorized gurney).

"Guess which one she chooses?"

Neither.  There's a twisted ending.

She hooks up with a perpetually unemployed, obnoxious, abusive, free loading, heavy drinking "bad" boy she met in a bar last week.
She "loves" him mainly for the subsconsious need to "mother" but also for the challenge to get him "straightened" out.

In the Spring they will showa  "What happened to..." episode where wel find out she managed to break free after suffering multiple black eyes,  the complete loss of her life savings and had to obtain a restraining order against him.

Only to then fall for a raging "queen" of a guy who helps her get back on her feet while she lives at the shelter. And she falls in "love" with him due to the the challenge of turning him "straight"

That is a pure BS, not "facts". Schoolboys of 12 are all enamored of the same girl.
After that age the tastes differ and people are attracted to those that others do not find as attractive. Many people pay not much attention to a man/women untill they have a chance to talk and then they get attracted all of a sudden.

Ugly people have problems. For reasonably non-ugly people personality plays a major role.

I'm with miko. As long as you are in the bell curve on the looks stakes, they don't matter much after the initial attraction.
