I hope internet will someday have system, that allows e-mail _receivers_ block the real sender, not their random dynamic identities. Sending should never be blockable, just the receiving end needs better tools for filtering content.

as for the NSA.....well now...thats pretty common knowledge all around....and I'm sure they do more then we think.....just pick up the phone and say....I really hate the president....I wanna kill em'....and voila....NSA's super computers will record that:D

Reread my post.  You assume I have zero knowledge of this.

"you don't know that the NSA is doin this.....from the comment you made.....I guess not....you better start informing yourself about your own Govr's devices.

You seem to do that alot.

Oct are you saying that Echelon doesn't exist?  Are you saying that the NAS can spy on any American citizen without a court order?

Heheh Oct the WORST kept secret in NZ is the Echelon base down by Blenheim (in fact I drove past it today on the way back from my sisters wedding). Trust me, Echelon exists.

Dunno if it does cellphones, it definitely doesn't do net though.

As for the UN, they can barely organise a good crap let alone take over the internet - by the time the UN got their ***** and commities sorted out Apes will be running the planet.  And if they did the US could simple 'unplug' them. The US has done a damn fine job of the net so far.

IMHO the country with the most porn sites will one day rule the net.

If it doesn't do net what is it good for? I wouldn't be surprised at all if it would.

As I understand it the NZ echelon bases role is monitoring communications in China, something about the way radio signals bounce off the upper atmosphere.

Vulcan they openly call it Echelon?  Does the NZ .gov maintain it or do you see some guys with Majestic 12 on their uniforms? :D

This may be far fetched, but supposedly an AI sifts through the mass of information somewhere underground in Georgia.

Like its only NSA doing the "echelon" projekts

Here in Sweden we got a instutition wich belongs to the Military wich is called FRA.

Translated it becomes The Defence Radio Institution.... They bug everything, they got the trigger words like NSA does etc....

And no one knows who controlls this institution....

If you belive that YOUR country DONT do this then they are simply hiding it well....

Have a nice surf ;)

Some are here to chat and some are here to endlessly berate, ridicule, and inflame. It does get tiresome at times.

The existence of "Echelon" makes perfect sense and I would be more surprised if it wouldn't exist.

Here is some info about it from Federation of American Scientists:
