It's not really that easy to design and execute a map that is a spawn camper's paradise while still allowing cherry-picking with absolutely no risk. Be patient.

geeze you guys... metavoss can't bother to explain he is very busy.   When his new sim comes out he will show us all.   Heard hubert and jakal got in on the ground floor for a very small investment.

I think shane pretty much nailed the reason metavoss doesn't like fester map.

The strat guys really are afraid to admit that closer fields makes for more even gameplay.   if they did then they would have to admit that they want far fields so that people are forced to play with em

look at huberts "location"... this is the constant theme from the strat girls... "we just want to spoil your fun"... kill the CV kill the fuel..  make em play with you.

They hate festers map because no sooner do they spoil one furball than another breaks out and.... It all happens spo fast that they can't keep up.   That is the real problem... if they ignored the furballers and did their normal boring milkrunning... they could "win the war" but... nobody would notice... the only way they get their kicks it to affect a whole bunch of people at once...

...and then along came the rooks, and QWW was reset. Awwww, shame. :p Then the Friday came along and the QWW slot was ended with Mindano still up. Sort of makes me think some people didn't like QWW. Wonder why that could be.

Festers map has even more bombing opportunities.  The closer together bases mean your bomber can line up on multiple fields for primary and secondary targets -  perhaps even with one calibration.

I definately get in now!

PIZZA SUCKS!

All last week I couldn't find a furball let alone more than five cons together.  Friday night, new MAP furballs galore.  All weekend decent furballs thank god for the carriers on the current map.  Otherwise the fields are too far apart as well but it is magnitudes better than pizza.

KILLL potato peelinG PIZZA HTC or move the fields closer.  That map SUCKS!

QWW™ = Quake With Wings. The expression was originally coined by Blue Mako.

Mars01 - you really like Big Isles? Just wondered, because some of the furballers hate it even more than the Pizza map - Mr. Toad, for example.

Read what he actually said Beet.

I've always said the only real action on BI is CV fights.

And, he points out, as most on my side of the argument do, that BI fields are too far apart.

Ask him whether he'd rather play Fester or BI. :lol

Or maybe ask him to rank the maps from his most favorite down to least.

I'm having a great time. Log in to MA, check for CV fites. If no fites or dark, log into CT, check for fites. If no fites, log into AA and FIGHT.

I'm a happy guy now. It's pretty simple, like I've always said. Do what you enjoy, don't worry about the other guy. If I'm being pushed out of this game by boring strateegerists, well.. there's just other stuff to do that's lots of fun.

Enjoy!

Yes I did read his post. Given that the fields are more spread out than some people would like, making it your least favourite map, I was puzzled by his comment that it was magnitudes better than pizza.

Nice to see you've developed a nice little IF-THEN-ELSE routine for deciding where to spend your online time. I thought it was this: "I'm having a great time. Log in to MA, check for CV fites. If no fites or dark, log into CT, check for fites. If no fites, log into AA. If no fites, log into the AH BBS and FIGHT.

Nah, for a fight, your opponents have to be armed. Mostly leaves the BBS out of it.

Beet,

I like Big Isles compared to the Pizza map.  Going from no furballing what so ever on Pizza all week long, to some good furballs on Big Isle really drives home the point - PIZZA SUCKS!.  Would I rather fly Fester - a resounding absolutely!!  Is it the CVs that make Big Isle decent - Absolutely.

What would make Big Isle better - More ports more CVs.  Move the bases closer together on the main lands.  If there are no CVs parked off shore of an enemy base then Big Isle sufffers from the same problems as Pizza and is about as much fun, NONE.

Toad hit the nail on the head.
