2 American fighters = P-51D, F4U-1D
2 American bombers = B-17G, B-26B
1 American utility = C-47
2 German fighters = Bf109G-10, Fw190A-8
1 British fighter = Spitfire MkIX
1 Russian fighter = La-5FN
1 Italian fighter = C.205
1 Japanese fighter = N1K2-J
The first 9 were fairly common and produced in large numbers during WW2. The last 2 were only built in small numbers, and served for a comparitively short time in combat.
Why are they there? C.205 because it's the only (long-overdue) Italian fighter in a flight sim, and the N1K2-J? - I understand it's a favourite of some people at HTC.
What I think is important to note is that they aren't "unbalancing" latewar "uberplanes"... Seems we can have rare planes as long as they aren't too good
Anyway, I think we need to see a late-war axis bomber soon. Ju88/188 or Ki-67, maybe the problematic He177.
Now about this P-38... I would love to see a glass nose option for the P-38J and L
towd; I think the K was only made in VERY small numbers - like a single prototype
