Thought this was one of those funny/fake screenshots until i was flying the 163 one day and noticed it had a prop:eek:

There is also a superfly sig in the cockpit;)

you only just noticed that? you can see it from cockpit too

It was connected to bicycle type pedals, so if the pilot pedalled on the rudder pedals it would improve his glide home.

Zmeg, is right... it was used to keep the electrical systems functioning. The device only turned when a certain speed was reached which was fairly low, below deck stall speed I believe.
