There is no affirmative action in the NFL. Teams will pick the best they think will help them. They hardly guess right though. Joe Montana was what, a 6th round pick?

Lol, I guess anything short of a superbowl would have got this reaction. I guess Jim Kelly is in the same boat.

McNabb is awful anyway.  Him getting hurt was a good thing for the eagles.  It was last season too.

Detmer went in after not having been in all season and did 3x better then he did.

Technically, Detmer did 4x better (only 1 interception) ;)

The Eagles' weakness was highlighted (and it wasn't necessarily McNabb).  I hope they don't do something stupid like try to pick up keeshawn Johnson.  Though... they're probably gonna do something stupid like not pick up Duece Staley.

McNabb a good playmaker....but his career stats show that he is just an average passer.  He needs help...Philly needs more playmakers...specially in the wide receiver area.  As usual, the best two defensive teams are in the superbowl.  Still the old adage that ya win with defense rings true.

Phillys defense wasn't of superbowl calibre all year, as was in evidence today.  Seems they've had problems tackling all year.

To much pressure for McNabb alone to shouldar.

Good defensive teams win superbowls....just look at the list of winners, should be apparent.

The KC - Indy game was a trackmeet LOL.....no defense at all.
Look what happened when they ran into a good defensive football team.  Carolina has the best defensive line in the NFC..and it showed.  NE forced turnovers.

Superbowl should be a good defensive game.

McNabb isn't overrated, Andy Reid is. 5-6 years as coach and the #1 receiver is James Thrash? Would Montana have been anything without Taylor, Rice, Craig and Clark?

Below average passer, that is.  At one point he was agile enough to make up for the fact that half of his passes are bounce passes (maybe he'd make a good point guard?), but he's not anymore.

No reciever is good enough to catch a pass that hits the turf 5 yards shallow of him.

Well, Mcnabb doing awful was just the tip of the iceburg.

The entire Eagles team folded like a cheap tent.

I saw three dropped passes in the 1st quarter alone. The 3rd down drop by Staley was big. Mcnabb lofted a perfect pass downfield over a linebacker and into Staley's hands. It went right through his hands.

Fatty must have been waiting all season to dig this post up. Even after rising above all the turmoil and having a pretty good season advancing all the way to the NFC title game(while at times carrying the offense on his own). But he lost in the NFC title game, so it proves he stinks. Too funny. Maybe I could have dug this post up after the 4th and 26 play , eh?

eagles were doing great till mcnabb got that late hit on his ribs after the ref blew his whisle,,,you could tell it wasnt the same mcnabb after that,,,all the dropped passes didnt help,,,,got rid of his running ability they had it in the bag

eagles defence was doing great,,they stopped panthers a bunch times on 3 downs,,and made them kick the ball more times then they liked,,and held them to only 14 points

seen alot worse butt whippings in the nfl than this game,,it was hard fought and eagles didnt just give it away,,there offence couldnt get it together ,,,,mcnabb being hurt<~~he should of took him self out of the game soon as he was hurt,,,but by the time he did,,it was too late, but who would blame him for not wanting to stick it out?,,it was the championship,,i think he would of tried to play with a broken back,,lol

all them dropped passes,,and when he got hurt,,he started throwing low,too many bad luck factors,,but thats football for ya,,you never know what will happen:)

think the pats are going to take the superbowl,,but!! panthers did look tuff,,so you never know,,could be a great upset

Pick whoever your #1 QB is...Brady...Manning...whoeve r...ask them to win with that line and those Eagles receivers. Nevermind superbowl you wouldn't have seen the playoffs.
