Oh, and I AM patriotic, too- patriotic enough that I've spoken my opposition to the Iraqi war, but unlike you I respect and admire  our military personnel and realize they aren't the policy makers. If you want to bust the balls of returning soldiers then why don't you make yourself a big sign and go to the airport? Maybe what you'll accomplish is turning a GI against you, and your ilk, to the point they'll remember your "greeting" forever...or maybe a returning soldier will roll your sign up and stick your lack of respect up YOUR ass.

While probably not appropriate to ask a returning soldier who isn't a close friend/family member, theres no reason to go crazy on LDV.

The Colonel West situation has been all over tv.  If you recall, Colonel West shot his pistol very close to an Iraqi prisoners head to get some info on upcoming attacks.  So you can see where LDVs question comes from.

Please add my heartfelt thanks to the gentleman and his comrades in arms.  I too would like to know if, after watching the media reports here, whether he thinks the news is being reported in a fair, balanced, and accurate way.

LDV, I normally go out of my way to coach my comments to even those I violently disagree with in a non-confrontational way, and with a degree of respect I believe human beings deserve.  So please take this in the spirit it is intended...

no im not talkin about some officer being brave with a pistol during the hot fighting sounds alot like a "b" movie i saw about nam once maby to much like it if you know what i mean.

im talkin about cold blooded murder. by american intel guys.

http://asia.news.yahoo.com/031201/ap/d7v59jpg1.html

this one talks about their methods.

http://asia.news.yahoo.com/031201/ap/d7v59jpg1.html

so the army says people were murdered ( in cold blood) under questioning. so my question is reasonable and just people just like your friend have murdered ( tortured to death ) at least three men in two countrys under questioning. ( in the name of freedom and YOUR american way)

when this first came out there was a thread on this board where all the usual facists supported the torture and murder of these men. ( how soon you forget )  i was outraged and still am. when you dispicable fools hide behind a flag you insense me further. and im not sorry.

I don't think an accurate picture of a conflict can ever be attained. Only with the passing of time and the release of information during that time, can you approach it.

I also think that while someone might be able to describe a narrow aspect in great detail, extrapolating that to the wider situation is not neccessarily going to give you an 'accurate picture'.

Neither one of your links to the same article say that US forces were responsible for the deaths.

Ever consider the possibility that they two were killed by fellow inmates for talking to the infidels or something like that?

Ever hear of inmates killing inmates in prison?

Your just spewing more of your bitter BS, like you always do. You've got zip here in your links.

And "their methods"?

Quote
Amnesty said that interviews of former Bagram prisoners that were conducted by the human rights group and by journalists have shown that detainees were subjected to ill treatment that may constitute torture, including blindfolding, prolonged forced kneeling, sleep deprivation and the cruel use of shackles.

Oh, the horror.

Clue ya. They did all this to me and much more in the "special" resistance school after Survival that all RC pilots had to attend. And I was one of "them"; I was a fellow serviceman. I survived.

Not to mention the Nato E&E exercise I was chosed to attend on behalf of my squadron. That was worse, actually. Just no end to the good deals.

Was this done in Colorado? My Brother-in-law is a Blue Zoo grad and told me about this fun little training program. He said they had Marines acting as the enemy and that they were especially fond of beating the crap out of young AF Lt's.
