A little background, about the sacrifice he and others are making for us. As you may know.

I’m sure this can be said about many that are there.

not to mention the risk of life.

He was pulled out of his last year of Law School, will have to repeat some or all to graduate and pass The Bar.

Secondly he left his wife and 4-year-old daughter behind. Has not seen them since March.

I don't know if I could have done it.?

holy ouch...
I always forget what it was like to be uprouted all the time..but thats a real kick.
Hope he enjoys his leave

By your logic since Lt. Calley massacred civilians in Viet Nam every Viet Vet is a babykiller.

It has NOTHING to do with politics to wish the grunts Godspeed and remember them in our prayers. Right or wrong the service people deserve our respect and, believe it or not, our COURTESY. For you to suggest you'd ask a serviceperson if they condoned torture is discourteous, but of course we both know your bad-ass attitude ends at your computer screen; all you do is prove the old saying "The bigger the Woo the smaller the Waa."

Really, man, you are the only one interjecting politics in this Thread. Everyone else was wishing JBA's friend well and thanking him (or apologizing) his life is put on hold, at best, or on the line, at worst.

You need to get past your agenda- you're reminding me of the PETA activists who e-mailed Roy that he got what he deserved cause he'd hit Monticor with his microphone. You're looking bitter these days.

Think of it this way (not asking for sympothy just givin perspective)  When I got out of the Corps the first time life was good as a civilion.  I had 2 very good jobs a great condo right by the pool.  I fiance who was actually pregnant at the time.  Makin money and getting ready for the holidays.  On nov 15th 2001 (2 months after 9/11) I recieve a FEDEX pacage in the mail that contains two things.....Orders....plane tickets.  It basically says "be at camp pendleton bags packed ready to go in 12 days....your active duty again)

I was just starting to enjoy civilian life again and now I gotta go play Marine for one more year.....BTW wife gave birth to my first born....didnt make it home.

Duty in itself sucks but people dont do it for medals...they dont do it for thank yous.....they do it cause they feels its right.   to your friend for his service.  "keep your heads down and dont bunch up"
