From a "below-min-specs" system, conditions as specified for the test:

CPU Type/Speed: PIII 550E o'clocked to 682 (124 on the bus, 512MB PC100)
Video Card Make/Model/Ram: Radeon 8500 128MB
In-game video resolution: 1024X768
Frame Rate: 14
Triangle Count: 3658
Other video settings: default
(ATI control panel not loaded, using Catalyst 3.06 drivers v 4.14.0001.9113)

I've played with settings and have been able to get the FRs up to 27 in the tower w/clipboard minimized. Flight is actually OK, dogfights online aren't hampered by any choppiness. Terrain display and interface are where the system's deficiencies show - terrain objects such as trees and towers are choppy-looking until close up, interface controls are sluggish. Better than I expected!

Anyhow, I set to max performance for both 1024X768 and 1600X1200

1024X768

1600X1200

If you set it to application preference its like disabling it unless the game has a control to unable it inside the game .If you uncheck the boxes its basicaly forcing the settings you set the sliders at on the app.

Is it too much to ask you broadband folks to just type the numbers instead of posting all these huge screenshots?  Us still cursed with skinnyband would really appreciated it.  Thanks.

The pics I posted are only 28k and 38k, hardly huge and fast to d/l even for a dial-up.

Yes, first resize your screenshots to about 800x600 or less which works well, and save in jpg format, using Photoshop/PaintshopPro or similar.  Then post your resized jpgs onto a website - if you don't have webspace, there are several people around offering it, like Saw.  Once on a website, click the IMG tag above, paste in the complete url of your picture and click OK - Submit your message and your picture will show.  :)

Pretty amazing the percentage who replied that can't follow your simple instructions so you can get a good comparison.  Not exactly Navy Seal material, I guess.
