Map Rotation – and crap gameplay on Baltic
« on: December 19, 2003, 01:07:45 PM »
Looks to me as if the map cycle has been altered to include an extra week of small maps. I wouldn’t mind so much, but when the fields are too close together as on Baltic, the suicide pork ‘n’ auger conveyor belt is running at full speed. It just becomes impossible to stop those inbound cons. Hehe, I know I’m safe to whine about this because the furballers do it all the time, ie. that the fuel-pork suiciders are all but unstoppable. The real rub is that with so many in the arenas these days, the side getting porked never has a chance to gain alt to deal with the incoming threat. This afternoon I watched in horror as waves of P51s arrived with absolutely no intention of surviving. They just dived to the fuel bunkers and porked them. Some guys just left it at that, others made flat turns back into the base to vulch a con or two before their inevitable, and not so glorious auger.

With the fields further apart, the porkers cannot sustain the conveyor belt effect. I almost never see this crap on the pizza map.

But then I started thinking about the map. What the hell are we doing with the children’s maps back up? Last week was Big Isles, the week before that was Pizza and the week before that was Children’s maps. We’re supposed to have a five map rotation, but now it seems another week of children’s maps has been inserted into the rotation.

If anyone wonders why I refer to these small maps as the children’s maps, you only had to see the crap gameplay I have just seen. Waves of jabo “fighters” porking our base. It was crap, and they were all easily killed, and many simply augered. I remember wondering “what the hell has this got to do with WW2?”. Oh well, the dweeb-porkers pay their $14.95 as well as the rest of us.

I’m like Funked. I miss paying the $2/hour fee. He was right: It kept the tardz out.

Yep,  I was on one of thos bases last night.  I took of, got some alt, 5K or so, pick up some speed and headed for the read dot.  Red was a Typhoon.  He heads streight for me, nose pinting down.  I pull up to avoind the HO and loop around.  Now I on his six but he totaly ignors me and heads for the town.  Dunps some rockets, pulls up and dives to the town.  This time I am at about d1.5.  Dumps some more rockets, puls up turns and dives at the town again.  This time I am at d500 getting ready for the kill.  The guy goes into a straight dive to the town with his cannons shooting at the ground.  Did not even try to pull out of the dive and went straight to the ground.  I pulled out of the dive and landed since the fuel was at 25%.
I hope he had fun cause I didn't

fuel porkers do get bad at times

the only way iv found to kill them is to get them before they get to the base

sneak up on them in a fast plane and there easy prey

i love using the ME262 for this role:p

Baltic is one of my favorites. Great fights in the right center of the map in the channels never fail to excite.

Fields there are close enough that a porker doesn't ruin everything.

Harden up the fuel and scatter it about.

It's ALL about the fight.in a brew...

Nope, virage. Like Nopoop, I came from WB. So I was never a newbie in AH. In WB, the fuel was a field target that had to be destroyed so that the field could be "closed". That stopped enemies upping, and allowed troops to get into the tower for capture. But hitting the fuel never meant that less than 100% was available.

I don't think that's asking too much.....

Heya, Mr. Tard. I'm going over there in about an hour. I'll pass on your good wishes. :D

I've just had a couple of hours in the CT  - fields are quite close together, but it doesn't matter because there are never enough people in there to fire up the steamroller or to roll up the conveyor belt.

We've got a mini AH meet tomorrow at Hendon. I'll be sure to gauge the guys' assessment of my shiftiness. ;)

    It's Tard now, is it?

You're abillty to reply has now been reduced to word-play on a poster's BBS nickname?

How the mighty have fallen. No reply to a clear example of your two-faced approach to the BBS?

I shall make you wince for that.

I see your off to boldly go to meet other UK players.

What have I done wrong now?

Anyway, it doesn't matter about the children's maps. I'm having fun in the CT, and the terrain (N. Africa) looks a lot like the Pizza map.
