gunslinger i had this happen to my car

turned out it was a bent rod in the engine itself.  If it happens in all gears and at all speeds you can look to the engine and not the transmission.

A bundle to fix so you might consider getting rid of it.

Sounds like a lineup pin may have been left out between eng & trans when the eng work was done. If this is the case you will have damage to the flywheel, converter & front pump. Take the pan off the trans and look for steel filings. If you have to have it rebuilt most shops ould rather have the truck with the trans still in it. Sorry I can't give you any good news. BTW thats not a chrysler trans its an AW4 made by asian warner(toyota)

OK, thx for the pointer loser--not a big MJF fan meself, but I take it that's what the flux cap looks like. ;)  Bigsky, I knew about the delorean, just not the mopar. :)  Yeah I have to say toyotas are great reliability-wise except the transmissions.  I've had two trans rebuilds on my automatic camry in 220K miles.  And yeah, I do change the trans oil.  Rest of the car is fine despite being treated like dirt.  Helluva engine.

Ok spent the last two hours under my beast and 4 burns on the exaust later:

All the bolts from the tranny to the engine are tourqed properly.  The CPS seems fine.  I hear the noise in all gears and 4WD H/L.  I can definatly feel the vibration/noise coming from the front of the transmission were the torque Converter is.  I can Actually SEE the fly wheel conecting to the torque conv wobbleing.  

I think I have a bad Tourque Conberter.

Again sorry to all those looking for transvestite info due to title.  Icemaw if your working tomorrow I'll probably give you a call.



the fluid was fine.  No metal shavings/burnt smell.  Its nice and dark red and smells like....well....oil

Do you think maybe the flywheel and TC were not torqued down properly?

that could very well be the case.  I've retorqued all the bolts allready but who know the damage may have allready been done.
