Okies.... what are your favourite Top 5 film soundtracks?

Something by John Williams?  Perhaps the BeeGees?  List either individual songs or the film that they were in, e.g. Star Wars Main score.

Still pondering on mine.... but they may include 'Saturday Night Fever', '2001', 'Electric Dreams', 'Star Wars IV'..... The Wedding Singer (great 80s soundtrack).

2001 - A Space Odyssey - Strauss and others

Jaws - John Williams

Pee Wee's Big Adventure - Danny Elfman, he did the Simpsons theme too

The Cowboys - John Williams

Psycho - Hitchcock's original - Bernard Herrmann

Pink Panther -  Henry Mancini

OK, it looks like we are splitting into 2 different catagories. Original Compositions and Compilations.

For Original Soundtrack: Rocky Horror, Tommy, Bond films and Pink Panther (sorry, I like Mancini)

For Compilation Soundtrack: Full Metal Jacket, The Commitments (excellent flick as well!), Fast Times At Ridgemont High and Pulp Fiction.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Glory (just good)

Gettysburg (ditto)

The Hunt for Red October (the radio controls turn into torpedo launch controls)

Star Wars  (when fellow nerds are identified in nearby cars)

Top Gun (nothing quite says '**** you' to the guy in the car next to you at the light as well as Kenny Loggins ripping away about some sort of danger zone thing.)

Back to the Future (Ditto Kenny Loggins, but with a smile to the guy next to you - anyone who can crank Huey Lewis at the stoplight has huge balls)

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Breakfast Club

Apocolipse Now (the helicopter scene)

Varsity Blues

DOes any one know why the "YOu lost that love and feeling"  and "Goodness Gratious Great Balls of Fire" were not on the Top GUn soundtrack????  They were only the 2 most important songs in the movie...

1)  Mostly everything by John Williams.  (Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, Schindler's List, etc..)

2)  Hans Zimmer - The Battle (Gladiator)

3)  James Horner (Unbreakable, The Rocketeer)

only three for now.  Most of my other favorites have already been mentioned.

They are both on my soundtrack.

Did you buy your CD with a black and white cover from a guy named Al at the race track?
