Just out of curiosity, does Burmuda have a single police force or multiple ones for different towns/counties?

lol...Tarmac.  This island is 21 square miles.  That's it.  Just one police force.

That's too bad. I'm sure you would have preferred money from the insurance. Do you have to accept it back?

in mini-d's deffence, here they don't really investigate property crimes with individual citizens as the victim.  they just take a report and say "hope you have insurance"

I'm sure some people get their losses investigated, but nobody I know.  as a matter of fact if your car is stolen and they catch the guy driving it, they ussually jsut give him a ticket for 'unauthorised use of a motor vehicle', and let him go on foot.
so from our view-point the idea of a full investigation for a scooter theft is pretty unusual.

Looked it up online and saw 5 towns; in America, that's most likely five police forces, each with two or three officers. :)

Have you guys forgotten already?  The thief broke into my car looking for change.  He found my set of keys in the compartment in bewteen the driver's seat and front passenger seat.  He unlocked my bike (handle lock only) and drove off.  It was found with the handle lock locked.

Did you change the handle lock? Or are you going to leave it parked in the same place as before, only now the thief has the key? Just don't come whining to us if it happens again.

LOL! I didn't see the part later in that thread where you said he took your keys out of your car.  Maybe this time you could just hang them on a hook next to the bike and he won't have to break into your car.

I haven't got it back yet...and man are you ever starting to even WRITE like MiniD.  He has already told me to not come whining back on the boards if my new one is stolen.

You guys should get a room or something.

It is still unclear as to exactly what is going to happen.  The insurance company cut a cheque, apparently, but as of today I haven't received it.  If the cops inform them before the cheque is mailed then I keep the bike and the insurance company keeps the cash.  If they have mailed it the bike belongs to the insurance company.

I would rather the latter.

Well that's a real nice system you got there.  Good luck with that.

OK Curval admit it, the bike was never stolen.

You were badgering the minister or his wife whilst your better half was recovering from the latest baby arrival.

The scooter was part of the payment plan, the rest was just a cover story for the wife ;)

Actually even if the ins co. has paid off on the "Scooter " you may have the option to buy it back for pennies ...

We did this when the Mrs Roos car was stolen and thrashed ,she got her loan paid off and we kept the car .
