have you decided if the IL2 have external view?

External views are just handled by plane type, they're not specifically set.  So the Il2 will have one, at least for now.  It does have a pretty boxy cockpit. It's got to have about the worst vis of any of the AH planes.  Strafes like a dream though.

  External views huh. Well, this has all gotten a little too Fighter Ace for me.

Easimo`s right,I think planes with only one gunner should not get an outside view.
In the B-17,Lanc etc. the gunners had all around view,so spotting was easier in RL.
But in the Sturmovik the gunner couldn`t see under the plane like the ballturet gunner in the B-17 could,it had a rather limited view.So it`d give this plane an unfair advantage,the plane will be abused, Il-2 HO-fest starts ,and there will be a lot of squeaking and moaning.
This plane should be monster,let people have a chance to kill it,and be used as it should
as a groundattack plane,not as a dofighter.
In FA the Il-2 ruined the game,by people dogfighting with it,and the AI gunner picking out everyone on their 6.
I`m not saying AH is like FA,but I can totally see people doing it,and myself getting pissed about it.

BTW that 410 cockpit does look sweet,but when it comes out,I wouldn`t wanna see outside view wile flying it.

Beautiful....REALLY awesome   On the external view thing I would say that if the TBM does have an external view, the Il2 should have it too. IMO, of course.


BTW that comment about the 410 is well noted Pyro  .

Pyro how is the ability to kill the Il2s rear gunner modeled? I know its kind of nasty but those poor guys had no protection as as they pretty much sat in the open from waist on up and any sort of MG/cannon fire in the rear cockpit did them in. So will it be possible for us to quickly disable the gunner then killing the Il2 might be easier, for some of then not 4 20mm cannon types but it will still be a tough hard plane.  And is the well known oil cooler fire tactic implemented?

BTW 1.07 is looking great and I love the "encouraging" statement on the 410.

On the external view thing I would say that if the TBM does have an external view, the Il2 should have it too. IMO, of course.

the TBM has a 3 men crew.The bellygunner can actually look down from the plane..
