whoa....this guy ghostrider also did that he sells DVD's on his website, just flew by his cameraman that was doing like 150, and there was so much power the front wheel never  came down.

Hayabusa's are scary fast.

I noticed that he was switching gears while in wheeling. Is this relatively easy to do, or is this the proof sign of an 'expert'? (complete bike dweeb here...)

It's easy to do as long as you know what you are doing and have the power to do it

pardon my ignorance on going 200mph on a bike but is it a function of the video taping that the lines on the road are still distinctly visible? Being a wuss the fastest I ever went was around 130 or so and all i remember was that it appeared as a solid line. Possible the speedo is porked?

mph??

I guessed was in Kph.

mmmm something weird there....

Question:

in those beasts the tachometer is not in the front wheel, i guess, but somewhere inside the gear box.

Maybe some modify ruined the tachom. accuracy?

if you look at the speedo the large numbers on the outside ARE mph. So, according to that he was doing over 220.

but Jimbear brings up a good point, it dosen't look like hes going that fast.

according to the proportional movement of the rpm gauge, he cut have reached a speed of 250 mph = approx 400 Kph.

No, there's something strange in it.

I dunno, but as he is driving...err flying NOE on the left hand side of the road, it is well possible that this was filmed in Australia or another country, and the line drawings may be strongly different from the US roads.
Besides, the length and separation of the white lines on the road seem to be pretty big at the beginning of his run.

And about the tachometer,  somebody said on the forum where this video was posted that Hayabusas have the tachometer  reading speed on the transmission between gearbox and wheel.

Anyway, if the video was doctored, it's a hell of a job.

I would say that he was actually going that fast. The bike is certainly capable of such insanity.

Also the lines on most highways are actually alot longer than you might think. Sometimes as long as 20 feet. I dont think they would become a blur at that speed.

I've been 150 on a bike before....from the visuals, I don't think he was doing anywhere near what that speedo indicated...just my take.

You dont have to use the clutch on road bikes like that.. to change gears, accelerate to most any rpm, apply a small measure of up force on the gear selector and let off the gas just abit.. gears sync up and you advance to the next gear.. not advised for downshifting...

racing my suzuki, as a beginner I would always get left at the starting line and hence have more than desired ground to make up.... then a kind competetor showed me the light.. lol
