I have been pretty much indifferent to the whole moderator thing.  In the past I have observed that players often police other players.  Many times I have seen players jump on the offender when they cross the line.  Ive seen pro-nazi issues bring about a firestorm that pours over into the BBS.
On the other hand, players also butt in without cause, when they should IMO mind their own effin business.

I was somewhat disappointed about 10 nights ago when a female player posted a nice kills landed message, and recieved some WTGs.  Following that  there were a couple 'hitting on' comments on ch1, which quickly turned into 5 or 6 guys getting progressivly cruder.  The disappointment to me was only 4 arena denizens bothered telling the others in one way or another to "chill out".

No, I will take back the disappointed part and go into full whine mode and say I was pissed.  On one hand in the MA I can state a simple "HO dweeb" in disgust about a 4v1, and get five a-holes editorializing about HO.  On the other hand a group of players are clearly harassing one player, and where are the comments from the peanut gallery then? BS

I made one comment in support of the player, and 2 telling the others to be cool.  The whole time Im thinking where the **** are these so called moderators?  I did eventually see at least one of them doing the indicative "talking to no-one" showing a mod had stepped in.

Now dont get me wrong, I have no problem with any back and forth banter, especially when both sides egg it on.  This was not one of those times.  This steped into (however unintentional) a harassing gang.
I guess my point, other than a little venting, is that the community (ie. you guys) set the general tone for what's accptable.  If you're not going to bother setting the tone, then dont act all surprised when mod's are putting the line where you dont want it.  That, and did I mention I was disappointed?:(

I agree completly Murdr. Chan 1 has become som POS latly, but I dont seem to mind it. When im bored climbing I always know that chan 1 will have some bickering that I can, much to my amusement, laugh at. Always a fun thing to watch chan 1, but in that situation, i would also be "disappointed". It happends more than ya think tho, I can see this almost as a weekly thing. Usually the same players to.

Something similiar happened to another female player after she shot someone down.  The attacks on her were out right vicious but only a few stood up in her defense.  Those of us that did also sent in our films and screen shots and am happy to say that twit is no longer flying among us.  Sad thing though, is that the game was completely and totally ruined for the female player and she hasn't been back since.

I saw some of this pathetic attempts of 'hitting' on our female players last night. I asked the individuals, "Hey, you don't bother Fester like that! Why not?" Obviously, the hint didn't work and they continued their grade-school behavior.

To be frank, if you need to do this online with someone who might be female, save the money and get a 'rental'. OK?

If there is an issue in question, I'll happily send the screen shot in.

Complaining about this type of problem on the bulletin board is not going to solve anything.

There is no way to gaurantee a moderator will be online 24 hours a day.  If you really want to help, then take a screen shot and email it to us at support@hitechcreations.com
