What would Reagan have done?

A post by doobs in another thread got me wondering.  What would ol' Ronny have done if faced with 9-11 or something similar?  Discuss.

Invade Afghanistan. That answer is so easy even you could have been President after 911.

he wouldnt have bothered with getting approval (pres can act for 90 days without congress)

he woulda gone into afghanistan swinging rambo style.

unfortunatly russia was still there invading afgh. so it would have been an international incident. russia would have counter-attacked and we wouldnt be here today.
I don't know what to put here yet.

A better question is : what would Carter have done. Carter would probably have formed a blue ribbon comission to investigate why the US caused 911.

p.s. I thought Rosie ODonnel was the first case of mad cow in the US

I heard that Austrailia was going to invade Grenada to protect their citizens there, but suddenly realized they didn't have a chance in hell to be victorious.

Zmeg and JB73 probably said it best.  I have no doubt nukes would have been used.  It would have been a very delicate situation with the Russians, seeing how they were right there.  Something would have to be worked out fast.

I bet 'ol Ronnie could have done it too...gain the trust and cooperation of the Russians.  The terrorists would not have lasted long, especially OBL.

It certainly would have been a strange moment in history if that happened, but it did happen to a certain extent during WWII, with Russia as allies.

A 9-11 attack when Reagan was president would have brought swift retaliation, and like JB said, would have been a worldwide confrontation, if not for the respect the Russians had for him and his advisors.

Not so...our PM's basic strategem is  now to blindly follow the americans into every conflict, and throw dollars stupidly into the son of starwars..so we're starting to get plenty of practise of blasting small countries whose armies consist of 3 Bolivians and a small donkey...

Not that there are any Australians in Grenada...but hell...since when was there any need for legitimate reasons anymore? The Liberals can go on TV and just say that Donkey could launch an attack in 45 mins, and off go the SAS!!!

actually it has nothing to do with his Alzhiemers.  if you where a bit older you might remember that as his response to questions involving the Iran/contra issue.

when asked about meetings where the issue was discussed he didn't even have the balls to risk getting caught in the outright lie of saying he doesn''t remember.  he said he "didn't know if he remembered"
