Ah..

then the tail swastika must be whited out or something.

At first, I suspected it might be a Japanese pre-war design or something, judging by the obviously strange but familiar insignia.. so I literally went through every JP aircraft profile I could find to see if it matches! :)

Of course, I got no match.

Seeing the really slender fuselage and glass cockpits, my second guess was also something of German, so I searched a bit of very early Junkers, Bloohm/Voss, Dornier designs and some Heinkels too, but couldn't get what I wanted.

 thanks Grun! :)

That's a good picture. Developement problems of the coupled engines are evident; black areas around exhaust.

Hi Kweassa,

>I'm having trouble identifying this one.. !

It's the Heinkel He 119V2, planned as fast reconnaissance bomber.

The He 119 series was powered by DB606 twin engines as later used for the He 177. They ran perfectly fine in the He 119.

The He 119V4 achieved a 620 km/h top speed and established an FAI record for a 1000 kg payload over a 1000 km distance with an average speed of 505 km/h.

(The Breda 88 surpassed this records one week after it had been established.)

Regards,

Henning (HoHun)
