I don't think I can be alone in having noticed that a new word has entered the AH vernacular, or at least a new meaning to an existing word. "Owned", which has come to mean "superior to" or "better than". Thus, if A is better than B, it is said that A
owns B or that B is
owned by A.
WTF???
OK, guys. What I need to know is which teen comic book, net-tard website, or wankbag TV programme would I need to have been aware of to understand this new vogue meaning of the word "owned", without having to ask here? Remember, I come from a time when "gay" used to mean happy and cheerful, and nothing more, so spell it out to me.
Why the need to invent new meanings for existing words? Could it be that the perpetrators of this bastardisation of the English language have an inadequate command of same, and must therefore resort to reinventing words?
I've noticed that Mr. SmartAlec himself uses the newly invented meaning of "owned". And yet, in an earlier thread he had the temerity to say (of me)
Look at the errors in that sentence - missing capital letter at the start of sentence, "English" not capitalised, and a split infinitive.

If that's not the pot calling the kettle black, then I don't know what is. Looks like Mr. SA (and he knows who he is) got "owned".
