I poop in your general direction.

It's not about the penalties, it's about making plays and overcoming them. That offensive interference penalty on Troy Brown was suspect, but you know what? There is nothing you can do about it. Do you give up and stop trying, or do you step up and make a play to overcome it?

Brown comes back and makes a great catch. You can make excuses, or you can make plays. That's what separates the superbowl contenders from the 4-12's.

Am I rubbing it in? Yeah. I have had to listen to Raiders fans cry about officiating and dismiss what the Patriots have accomplished for two years. This is sweet.

I'm still up watching highlights, waiting for the newspapers to hit the store(in about 2 hours). I have the Globe and Herald from their first superbowl in good condition, but the box of wheaties got sat on by my 5 year old, doh!(at least she didn't open it)

But the one thing that bothers me is now the Brady/Montana comparisons will continue. He has a few more superbowls to win before that can happen.

On a side note, Joe Klecko got to watch his son win a superbowl in his rookie season. I thought that was pretty cool. Dan is always being told he will never be as good as his dad, and i'm sure Joe thought that was pretty unfair. I'm sure the next time the comparison is made, Joe will say " hey, he won a superbowl, I never did".

The Patriots have 2 picks in the 1st round, 2 picks in the second round, and two picks in the fourth round in the upcoming draft.

Chris Berman picked the Pats to win the superbowl before the season.

Rush Limbaugh picked the Pats to be in it (but lose to the Bucs)

The Patriots, two superbowls in three years, woulda thunk it?

Kinda easy to win games when you can call 4th and inches plays, not even get to within a foot of the line of scrimage and get the 1st down anyway.

CBS has figured it out though. Most of the penalties called on the panthers they never even showed replays of. the kick return was a clasic. The panthers return to the 45 and the carrier takes a helmet hit way out of bounds. Nope it comes back. block in the back.(no film) and the late hit out of bounds was a loss of ballance.(no film) net result. thier own 10 instead of the patriots 45.
Sad sad playoffs this year.

Actually, ESPN Classics did a pretty interesting profile on him this past weekend.

It was worth the time to watch it.

Oh...and GO PATS!

Yea!  The refs gave New England the game!  It is too bad this happens in professional sports.

The Pats must have alot of money to pay off the refs again this year!

Brady/Montana comparison??  Brady is not even close to being in the same league as Montana.

Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.

I'm not sure what game you guys were watching but our TV feed showed replays of every penalty called for the most part.

Oh, also including that WEAK off .pass interference against troy brown. You're really digging if you're gonna harp on the officials for the SB, because the pats had their share as well. the fact of the matter was that most of the ones against NE were early on, and you KNOW that in the locker room at the half coach bill made sure to get the disipline level back.

sixpence got a point. i've noticed that fans of other teams hate to see the patriots win like we hate to see the yankees win. every game i see another reason why we won, and its NEVER because we were the better team. kinda sad, especially coming from a franchise that cried so much about 2001 only to throw the biggest stinker of a bowl the next year.

Obviously somehow the pats had to do with that as well as your season record this year.

Oh well. We have a good club and a good owner and good fans and i dont think the pats are gonna be a pushover for a while. :aok

A Guy at work said it all about the Pats.

"I can't understand why they win, they are just a bunch of guys."

.......hmmm, made me wonder, "a bunch of guys", ya that's it

a bunch of guys, some would maybe call a bunch of guys...........

........................ a TEAM.

Classy fans.
Keep talking chowds.  Your continued insecurity (your team wins the title but you feel the need to denigrate other teams and seek approval and recognition from their fans) just makes you look stupider than ever.  Fortunately the Patriots have a lot more class than their fans.

Come on Funky, had Oakland won last year, the gangs would have burnt down their own grocery stores and looted from their own neighbors! (again...) ;)

Yeah and I would be on here condemning the people doing that kind of crap instead of wasting my breath on the Pats.  It just shows the chowd mentality.

Sorry funkie, I love ya but you're being a hypocrite.

I dont think you or any other raider fan has given the Pats a fair shake since the loss in the snow 2 years ago. Even in the other thread on the game you alluded to it;

Quote
Clearly, the Bush junta paid off Kasay in order to ensure victory for the guys with the red-white-and-blue outfits, just like they bought the refs 2 years ago.

All us Pats fans have heard ever since then is how every game has been bought and how our team didn't deserve to be there. To me thats plain disrespect for the all the work that TEAM did to get where it is today.

As for Pats fans, if you're gonna take one incident of drunken college students and use it to make a judgement on an entire state/region, you're completely dull in the head. Everyone I've talked to today not only talked about how good the game was, but had heaps of praise for the Panthers. Im sure that the Raiders woulda done the same had they prevailed in a close one last year over the Bucs, right?

Lastly, does anyone else chuckle when they hear a Raider's fan make comments about the Pats fans? If anything, that's the pot calling the kettle black.

That post you quoted was a joke Moose.  Even if the Raiders had won the "tuck" game they would have lost to Pittsburgh.
Anyways you and your buddy Sixpence started this round.  You're the ones who can't just be happy with your team winning, you have to start slagging off other teams and fans.  No Raider fans came in here and started saying the Pats didn't deserve the title this time.  It was purely a figment of your imaginations.

Slagging off Raider fans is an Olympic Event in this area, Funked. :aok  Why do you think we're all armed? :D
