How efficient is it to coddle and pamper serial sex offenders and murderers?

This is what I was referring to.

Then you have not answered my question then. For those convicted with irrefutable evidence how efficient is it to coddle them?
This case is still ongoing. What of those already decided?
Is your answer to give them the Resort Plan?

Life imprisonment would be the ultimate penalty. I'd tend not to agree with those who would push for trial by fire, burning-at-the-stake or hung, draw and quarter. They have a habit of belonging to the same type of people as those who believe paedanutricians molest children. I don't know what kind of prisons you have in Canada, but the ones I've been in over here couldn't be described as a resort from what I could see.

I like to think that those administering justice should be a fair few levels above the barbarity of those to be judged.

I just saw on a 'Breaking News' banner on CNN's website that her body would have been found.

So sad for her and her family, so infuriating for the non-human sicko who did it....

keep ur icon ...

when one takes a life in cold blood, say an eleven year old child, that person loses the right to have a life of his own

that "person" is not human but a rabid animal and needs to be treated as such and put down

Nobody's going for sainthood here. It's about removing a human tumor from society, if and when said human is confirmed as a tumor.

What would you have the State of Florida do? Put him in anger management for a few years, perhaps? Declare him the victim of childhood abuse and sentance him to family therapy?

Our legal system can't ensure a life sentance for him, or anybody. There will always be a chance that he'll be turned loose on society in thirty or so years after he is deemed 'no longer a threat'. He he does not deserve this glimmer of hope.

Yes, I suppose it is a bit medieval, but when people behave in this fashion, that is exactly the sort of treatment they should expect. Remember, it's only retribution if they do him in in a cruel and unusual way(which I personally vote for). Fact is, he'll probably get some sort of human send-off--something he didn't afford his victim.

SLO: then you kill him because he killed someone else.....logic says your as bad as he is.

You say "logic" but there is no logical connection between killing and being "bad" or especially "as bad".

Being "bad" means doing evil. There is no automatic definition that killing someone is evil. Killing in defence is not evil. Killing animals for food is not evil if done humanely.
Killing is evil if it violates someone's right to live. If a person wants to die - being in unbearable pain, or a person forefeits his right to live, killing such is not evil, since there is no violation.

An agressor forfeits his right to protection - that is why it is not evil or illegal to kill an agressor who is trying to kill you or someone else. His act of forfeiting his right to life is a deliberate voluntary decision. (Which is why I am against comparing him to rabid animals. They do not control themselves and deserve our compassion.)

If we fail to kill him in time and he succeeds in murdering his victim, does that mean that he gets a free pass and the right to his life back? Not really. He is still an outlaw and evil and has to be destroyed because he has no right to live.

Funny. I know someone in this thread says he watches violent video's of people being killed and reads books on the topics.

He is against killing people like this sicko who kills defensless children.

Makes you wonder doesn't it?
