In the same thread where former AW players wave off the Ki.84 because it will be too dominant in the arena, they note the differences between the AW and AH Fw190s.
Doesn't it stand to reason that the AH Ki.84 would have FM differences from the AW Hayate as well, and therefore might not come to be so dominant as it was in AW? I came from Warbirds, and while the Ki.84 was competitive, it certainly wasn't dominant. It could be a handful for the pilot during hard manuevering, and wasn't as fast as the plentiful P-51s or Yak-3s.
It wasn't as popular as the Spit IX.
Could it also be possible that AW's Ki.84 FM had flaws? You have to wonder why 75% of the Big Pac chose to fly them.
And finally, if it really is as bad as the ex-AWers claim, it could be limited by perking it.
Just seems to me former Air Warrior players have been shell-shocked by the Ki.84, but they need to realize it won't be the same bird in AH, and even if it turns out to be as bad as feared, AH has ways to deal with overpopularity.
By the same token though, I can imagine what I would say if a few years down the road I found myself in a different sim, where players were posting pics of the LA-7 saying "we need this one!".
