Any help on how I can prevent web adds from cutting into my flying, sending me to desktop in mid flight to see some dumb add like "MS web cams..Cheap!!"...I try to cancel but all too often it's too late. This type of intrusion is worse than telemarketers who phone during off hours. At least I can choose to ignore phone. No choice here as I get windowed to desktop and have to go through several cancels to get back to game.Anyone else have this problem and fixed it?Please tell me..Thnx<S!>

Simple: Don't go to web while you fly.

If you do, don't go to stupid sites with ads, they suck anyway. I never use ones that has them.

Do you mean that ads randomly pop up by themselves while playing aces high?

You might have some kind of spyware program installed?

Heh yeah if you get random ad popups, I'd start to clean up my system ASAP.

What is your service provider? Are you dial-up AOL or something?

SirLoin...

If you want to eliminate the possibility of spyware products causing the problem, try this:
 http://www.lavasoftusa.com/index.html

I run this program daily and you wouldn't believe the garbage it turns up from just daily web browsing.

Hope it helps you.  BTW, it's FREE.   :D

Regards,
Badger

A way to avoid getting more of this stuff is to change the cookie settings on your browser. Simply refuse to accept cookies from all but a VERY few pages and you don't get spyware on your system. The lavasoft adaware IS a good program BTW.

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

A lot of these critters get attached to systems when people download Freeware, which is paid for and sponsored by advertisers.

They in-turn collect your personal demographics and use (or sell) the information for spam and other purposes.

Usually people authorize the use of the spyware on their computers innocently when they approve those "product license" "thingys", that often go by quickly during installs.

Parasites detected by Ad-aware:

Adware, Alexa 1.0-5.0, Aureate v1.0,2.0 + 3.0, Comet Cursor v1.0 and v2.0, Cydoor, Doubleclick, DSSAgent, EverAd, EzUla, Expedioware, Flyswat, Gator, Hotbar 1+2, OnFlow, TimeSink v1.0,v2.0 and v5.0, Web3000, Webhancer, Transponder,Wnad and more...

BTW, this product doesn't block cookies.  You'll see them come back unless you turn OFF cookies from within your browser as was suggested earlier.  That's why I run it daily.

john9001, it sounds like you are fine.  Some people pop back and forth between AH and a browser (especially during long bombing runs  :)).  If you have your browser closed then you have nothing to worry about.

I remember when WW2OL first started....To logon and start the game, you had to click a link at their web site.  And since they disabled Alt+Tab, you couldn't close the browser.  Well, the problem was that their web site had an ever-changing add at the top.  This was screwing up everone's connection.
