Compliments to HTC!! Question
« on: February 15, 2004, 04:27:01 PM »
I just had a chance to test with AH2 V13 and I am impressed with two things.

1. E6B mode is fantastic! Fuel consumption and duration with power settings for max cruise listed for the P-51D/B. I hope this data will be listed for all A/C. Will E6B be available online or just offline??

2. The new fuel consumption on the Spit is great!!. I am wrong in thinking the FW190 consumption was also changed?

Questions,

1. The 109G10 fuel consumption was not listed. Is this a bug or is this still being looked at?

2. The FW190 fuel consumption does not change with WEP. Is this correct??

Thanks HT and Pyro. A big thumbs up:aok

I agree!

F4U, I don't think the fuel consumption is available for all aircraft yet.

Started implementation of a new fuel consumption model. Fuel burn rate will now vary with altitude and the various RPM and manifold settings should produce an appropriate speed and fuel consumption which translates to an appropriate range and endurance for each plane. As we implement this to all planes, the RPM and MP gauges will display the correct settings for each plane. This is currently implemented on the P-51D, Spit IX, Spit V, B-17, and B-26.[/b][/size]

Compliments to HTC!! Question

Thanks guys,

There are many screaming for engine managment in AH myself included.

This second look at fuel consumption is really more than just a first step. Just check the Spit IX. With the 2.0 fuel multplier the Spit has very short legs (historically accurate) and it forces players to learn best RPM and MAP combinations for best duration and range.

This also puts A/C like my F4U and F6F on a more even paying field since they won't have to carry rediclous amounts of fuel while flying missions relative to smaller A/C.

Fuel consumption data is available for both the 190's. It appears to be much lower on the D9 than the A5.
