According to Iraq Body Count as of 17/2/04, a minimum of 8,245 and a maximum of 10,089 civilian deaths have been counted since Iraq was invaded.
Deaths to Iraqi Armed forces are estimated 4,895 to 6,370*
Since the war began, 547 Americans and 97 members of other coalition forces have died, for a total of 644 coalition military deaths.
According to SH’s Iraqi Government, 1.5 million deaths were as a result of 11 years of UN sanctions, 600,000 of those children under the age of 5.
This is an average of 136,000 deaths a year due to UN sanctions.
According to these numbers, the deaths due to foreign influences in Iraq since the invasion has dropped from a pre invasion average of 136,000 to 17,103.
In the nearly one year since the invasion the death count has dropped by a factor of 8; a difference of 119,000 lives.
