If flaps didnt auto retract they would rip off.
Why would you want your flaps to rip off instead of auto retracting?

Because the P-38 in real life didn't have auto-retracting flaps and in all the years I've played online flight sims, this is the only one that has had that feature.  In the other two online flight sims I've played, I only recall damaging my flaps from over speeding less than a dozen times.  It's the risk you face when flying the plane and I really don't see why HiTech sees it as a game balance issue.  He didn't have that thought when he made that other game.

I didn't like either of those mods and always spent my time in Tribes in the base servers or in Tribes 2 playing the Classic Base servers.
