What are we fighting for?...

All this online simming...they just give us planes and tell us to go out and kill others, by shooting down their aircraft, getting pilot kills whenever possible, and bombing innocent civillians.

Senseless violence is what it is, unless we have something to fight over...which...I guess would give it all some sense.

So I ask:  Why all the fighting? What is it?

Is it territory, resources, or sheep?  Could it be differing ideologies, breweries, distilleries, car parts, decent coffee, excellent pizza, or the huge bottle of Shiner on the mountain?  Or maybe lawn mowers, outhouses, running water, standing water, heavy water, a holy grail (I told him we've already got one...), sports teams, vacation spots, or saving the whales?

I tell you...all this bloodshed is starting to get to me!

This got me thinking, just what IS the point of the arena war? I mean, a side goes to all the trouble of all but wiping out another country's fields and their only reward is a brief text message and the loss of all their newly gained territory. Hence all the last field stalemates we see.

So how about this? We have a league table of war wins each tour with points updates accessible through a host command and the web.

Every time a side wins the war, 20 points are awarded for each airfield owned and 5 for each V field. Plus 100 extra points for the side killing the last field.

The winning country each tour gets bragging rights for the next via a message on the arena banner.
