Head Position File

It has come to my attention that many new players do not know how to set their head positions.  If you are one of them, you will notice that their a seat always in the way of your view when you look back so you can't see your 6.  Anyways here's snefens file.

some may also not realize they should map a button or key to toggle between view set 1 and view set 2 to make the most of the views.

for example... i have an 8 way hatswitch

viewset 1 has 9 views (1 default look straight ahead, and 8 look back, fwd up, front left, front right, etc etc)

view set 2 has another 8 views (back up, fwd left up, back right up, etc etc).

i use button 6 on my j/s as a toggle between the two view sets.

also....

disable "stall limiter" in setup/flight, it's holding many back from getting the most from their planes. they'll have to deal with about a 2 week phase of "spins o death" while they adjust, but once they do, they'll rarely spin out and if they do will be able to recover pretty easily.

ignore set 3 and 4 they do nothing (i haven't set any toggle for them - in theory you can have up to 4 sets of commands as long as you choose a toggle of some sort. i have all the main flight commands set the same in set 1 and 2 so they do what i want no matter which views i might be in, i.e., trigger will fire guns whether looking front up or back left because button 2 fires guns in both set 1 and set 2).

here are pix of how to set up the 2 view sets (set 1 and set 2) and the toggle.

note: look front up right is  HAT1 UR , not UP... it's a screenie glitch.

Or you could do it the easy way.

Have one button set to "Look Up".  That way you can get all the views easily.

that ties you to maintaining pressure on that button/key, thereby limiting what you can do with that hand.

but that is another way of doing it, yes.

I have Shane's setup in AH, and, and lasersailor's setup in Il-2, but only because Il-2 doesn't have the marvellous keymapping options that AH has.  The toggle is much better than keeping your finger constantly on the button.  Frees that finger up for other things.

Going with the stick set option has other benifets also. Like switching between primary guns only on trigger, or all guns.

Or haveing one set of buttons for trim on stick set 1, & same buttons for gear, flaps, etc on set 2.

The advantage to having the look up button is that I can see any angle really quickly.  I don't have to hit a button just to be able to do look and look up.

Mine is similar to Shanes. My toggle button is the pinky on the flight stick.

I have "look front down" programmed as a seperate button on my throttle on both stick sets to check those dashboard clocks that I can't see in the "front view" sitting on all those pillows to see over the nose.

Also have a button programmed for damage so I can see when it's time to kiss my *** goodby.

Glad I caught this thread...  Didn't even know that you could do that with the different sets and all.  Will have to set it up when I'm home from work.
