Best free racing is the demo version of Live For Speed.

Think I might have to run to the store today.  Funked - how much should I expect to pay?  Is this an 'old' title yet?

Wow, excellent!  I'm doing the TPTCC (touring car championship with 'vettes and 'stangs) on the add-on tracks, and the IROC mod (which also rocks).  I've been driving the Gulf Ford GT40 a lot on the Sebring-Day track since the 12-hour race is going to be run there in a couple of weeks.  Now THAT is fun!  Too bad I get a bit too aggressive in Turn Three. :p

What are the odds I could get those two Vipers sent to nascargofaster@yahoo.com to add to my stable of AI cars?

Papyrus/Sierra's NASCAR Racing 2003 Season is a great sim in its own right.  Install the patch, then install the mods, and its greatness just keeps getting better.  Definitely worth any price up to $30.  I like it a lot more than I do the EA Sports F1 titles.  Its a lot less arcadish than the EA Sports racing game.

ill check out this live for speed demo looks cool i went to the nascar 2003 and it seems like serra had a hand in its creation or distrobution either way they helped make aces of the pacific so im sold on its validity.  I would agree that most of the racing sims out there are too arcade ish which is fun for a day but is very limited.  Im going to set up the race map in h2h if anyone is around in h2h today.

Hey Funked how serious are you guys about racing? Is it a league, i.e. race days every saturday with friday qualifying? Or is it for fun, and everyone just gets on and races each other?

Btw is it tough to learn? I used to play live for speed but I'm not a gear head and could never get a decent setup on a car till someone sent me one, but still was only able to hold a 4th place finish vs them, live for speed was a fun game.

Are the mods good? Because usually mods are prone with bugs and other defective quarks, yes they're free but hell, if they don't work its no fun.

And... would it be possible to hit ya up a bit later tonight to get some driving tips, and or some race's with your crew?

Would suggest that you folks use an external voice com program, i.e. Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Roger Wilco (i prefer the first one).. Would appreciate the info funked

The TPTCC, Trans Am, and IROC mods work fine, as do most of the add-on tracks except for the Australian and British ones (won't load on my machine for some reason).  The only problem I've had with the TPTCC and Trans-Am mods is that the bottom of the player car sort of sinks into the pavement.   It doesn't affect game play but it can be disconcerting to see the front air dam of your GT40 submerge on replay.  Apparently the problem is related to how Papyrus set up NR2003 cars and graphics.  Other than that, it is well worth the time to download and install.
