No way to do so, airmess.

I'm pretty sure the spinner is unchangeable, too. Only the Fw190A-5, which has the "SPIRAL.BMP" file, can be changed in spinner color.

I find it strange that HTC would say that they will not accept any skin that isn't historical, and then go and make it impossible to make a historical skin on some models (except for the original skin).

Its not odd, there's literally thousands of historical paint schemes to choose from. In AH there will be a limit of 15 paint schemes per plane. These should be high quality and historical. I personally don't want to see a bunch of goof ball skins or lesser quality non-historical skins fill one of those 15 slots. Pyro didn’t say the skin had to be exactly 100% historical but he did say the skin has to be something that they would have released themselves.

Now there are problems with some of the templates, this is known. The g6 being my favorite plane in AH I was disappointed that the tulip nose is "fixed" permanently. It’s not entirely clear that flaws in the templates will disqualify a skin. However, an artist who strives for perfection these flaws are a “major issue”.

I think you misunderstood me. Your second paragraph is what I meant. I find it strange that HTC limits the options of making historical skins when historical skins is what they want.

they already kinda apologized for the tulip.  Promised never to do a plane design like that again....

Pyro and HiTech: Alternative ...

Ok. I cant make the Swiss G6. Sad, but it is not the end of the world.

pyro and HiTech. I hope you read this. Is this historically tollerable if imake the Swiss skin on a G2 insted of G6. It seams to me that the G2 doesnt have those design obstacles.

I would like to have, lets say a positive sign, so i can start when the G2 comes out in one of the next Betas.

I'm disregarding the discussion here...

I always thought of the 109's as ugly-pretty.

Not any more.

(That was meant to be a heavy compliment, airmess.)

So... if AH2 should be sort of a "new" game, then why don't they update the 3d models too? There is plenty of time for that... Since the planes we have now are nothing but the planes we have already in AH... No change there just the skin files got bigger but the skinning options are so limited that making a true historicaly correct skin is in most cases next to impossible because of the stupid limitations hardcoded in the 3d models and very bad system of texture mapping...

But then again those are just 3D models that can eventually get fixed one day...

The G6 issue is temporary closed for me for now. I look forward to make a Swiss 109 E .. but on your own risk :D. When you'll see how the Swiss skinned the 190E during WW2, you gonna get a laugh attack. It looks more like a white nosed flying zebra, which formly calls you to be shoot down.

This was needed, becasue German (specially 109's) and Allied aircrafts crossed the border frequently and the ack sometimes shot at the own 109's.
