Hajo, here is the pics I promised you. Co-workers uncle is a ghost writer for several auto mags. Here's his latest story on the 6'er with a few pics he sent Marc from his drive way (He's the older of the two fellows) Personally, if I had $76,000 in disposible income, I'd get a P-car.(shrugs)

2004 BMW645Ci 2-D Convertible
All automobiles are a complex compromise of opposing desires. Some get it mostly right, some get ruined trying to do it all. The 2004 BMW645Ci Convertible is an outstanding example of excellent functional compromise. There¹s no hiding the fact that it is heavy, complicated and expensive. But what you get for your $76,000 is truely amazing. Heavy as in 4,200 pounds. Complicated as in computer electronic controlled engine breathing....no throttle....variable valve lift and intake geometry. Fully active computerized springs and shocks with active roll control without sway bars, and variable steering ratio. Plus traction control, ABS, and a 6-SPD manual control automatic transmission. But nothing feels as if directly connected....your every command seems to be a computer input request for speed and direction change that the Bimmer will then deliver only on it¹s programmed terms. But deliver it does. It just goes, stops, and turns very accurately as if you were really doing it all yourself taking into consideration all the bad impediments such as lousy pavement, wet spots, etc. This driving experience might lull a so-so driver into thinking he¹s Andretti, since this machine adjusts for all adverse conditions so well, leaving you with no driver technique required to motor madly like BMW owners love to do. With a fabulous sounding 325 HP V8 producing appropriate rap and burble, acceleration is abundant at any speed. Braking is fierce, almost too strong to modulate at crawl speeds. Once you see the advantage of the variable ratio steering, it¹s so logical and a delight during tight manouvers. The 19 inch 35 profile Bridgestone Potenzas produce almost no pound and thump like lesser cars. With a ride far more luxury than one would think, given the roll-free accurate handling in the twisties, this gem is sort of luxo-racer. But the amazing part of the compromise is that it is a convertible that acts like a tight solid coupe. Rock steady steering wheel with virtually no cowl shake top down....not a creak or rattle on the worst choppy concrete whether the sport suspension mode is on or off. Top down 80 MPH makes very little wind even with all windows down. Back seat passengers (dwarfs only) can be protected by a vertical glass window that can be raised when the top is down. The whole top operation is an entire piece of showbiz with hydraulic cylinders and position switches cycling all the windows, the folding top, and various other flopping and shifting pieces. The result is a convertible that looks really good both top up and down with every detail smooth and closed. BMW¹s controversial sculpted styling looks OK in white....sort of a very expensize scallopted potato. This is one BMW that those who want to drive hard and also be seen in the hottest Bimmer will crave.

Wow that thing is gianormous. At least it's not as smurfy as the Z4 or the new 7 or 5. The wheels are just plain tacky. And curb rash magnets too. Whatever happened to the nice BBS wheels that BMW used to use? I liked it better when the Japanese were copying BMW, not the other way around.

You forgot "IMO"

I think the Z4 is the best looking of the lot (4,6, and 7) Again though, with that kind of disposible income, I wouldn't buy stuff like this for style, but rather performance.

Yeah, but if you wanted performance, you wouldn't get a Z4. You'd get an M3 or M5.
I think the Z4 looks like one of those Kobe Bryant basketball shoes.

No I haven;t, but I'd like a "no bangle butt" option on all the newer 5-6-7 series.

Inspected a 6 series up close and personal. Perhaps the ugliest car BMW has ever made, IMO... yes, worse than the new 7.

Looks like Ill be sticking to E46s for awhile...

i cant find images atm. I saw it on a tv show the other day, and that beemer looks like a 911 with the trunk open if you view it in profile....maybe GS saw "autofil"

guess you will have to see it in real life but its amazing....like a copy of the porche

imagine the trunk open.....looks like the 911's spoiler when its up..ahh guess you need to see it to get my point
