Morph - I agree with a lot of what you say - especially about P51 seal clubbing becoming boring and all that.
OK, it's not real WW2 and I can tell you don't want it to be. I don't either - of course I don't. What each of us wants in terms of realism differs greatly. Some people I knew even dressed in a WW2 get-up to play WB!! Some wanted 8 hour buff sorties, some want to see engine management controls like mixture, prop governor, carb heat, cowl flaps etc. I do not. This is a game played from a keyboard.
But having said that, I hate to see the game go too far in the opposite direction, and end up with the meaningless arcade gameplay we have these days, especially on the small maps. So you can turn a P47D30 with a N1K - what does that prove? That your joystick settings are finely tuned?
I appreciate that you and many others have RL commitments. But I don't agree that this should be used as a justification to withdraw maps like the pizza map. If you
really are so short of time, take a week off from AH when pizza comes around. That's what I used to do when the small maps came around, one week in every cycle. Then the rotation was changed and I had to take 2 weeks off.
As for the pictures, these were extracted from the film that Mars is so anxious to see.

I'm showing him the film one frame at a time.

On the respect thing: Respect is a two-way street. When the furball fundamentalists stop disrespecting people who want to play the other 75% of the game (the strat ¾) with labels like "strategeerist", "sky accountant", "toolshed killer", "fluffer" etc., then I will start to respect them. But when someone makes a false accusation/allegation about me, and I can prove it, they're going to get it with both barrels. Simple as that. (Yes, I
can buy a shotgun

)
In about 2 hours time, I am going to post that F4U film right here in this thread. If mars01 or anyone else decides to rubbish it, then you will clearly see that there is no respect coming in my direction. Will you still expect me to respect the furballing fundamentalists, should that be the case? Watch the reaction it gets, and you'll see why the game is so polarised between strat players and furball fundamentalists.
