Oh kwel :)

I made a new thread about it but might ask you in this thread instead if that is OK?

The 190's look great too hust a few questions though. Would it be possible to increase the number of edges some for the engine cowling? As it is now they are quite squarish, from the cokpit the cowling (A5) is all flat compared to some other planes like your 109 which is really nice and round. Would be great if the cowling could be made a bit rounder.

Also, Could you make the cowling guns in the 3D Modell the way you have with the Dora? As it is now on the A5, A8 and F8 they are in the skin I believe.

Another question, any special reason the 190's "over the nose view" has become worse? Specially compared to the 109's which have improved, the 190 hood should give better visability I think...

Last, the Dora cowling from the cockpit, the gun bulges there also look a bit flat, anyway to make them more round without too much loss in the FPS?

All eye candy questions, like I said, the 190's look very nice too, just not quite as nice and round as your 109's :)

Here's the high tail for the G-6:

Right now it looks like a high tail but the line which separates the rudder and the vertical stabilizer is from the lower, metall tail unit.

There wasn't any G-6 late or anything like that in real life. It's just how FB deals with the issue. G-6s could have high tail and heavy frame canopy or vice versa. Most of the high tail units were made from wood, but they could also be made from metal. There were different variations.

The AH G-6 doesnt look like it has a high tail.

From that same site:

This is the AH G-6 with erla haube and wooden tail.

Same tail, same canopy.

I know there are different "variants", I only used FB's designation as an example to show that.

This is what I'm talking about, Nate.

Pic1

The upper part of the pic1, is the AH F-4. The under part of pic1 is the AH G-10. Highlighted in red, is the distinct "bulge" of later Bf109s with larger superchargers which, IMO shouldn't manifest in Bf109F-4, G-2 and the G-6.

This bulge, is more clearly demonstrated by the following line drawing of a Bf109G-10.

Pic2

 ....

Pic3:Bf109G-6 with DB605A

Pic4:Bf109G-10 with DB605D

Now, Pictures 3 and 4 show why the earlier models don't manifest those bulges, while later 109s do. Note the large curved engine bearer wrapping the circular superchargers.
(refrence from: Identifying DB605AS vs DB60D-engined aircraft .. while the website is oriented towards identifying the difference between DB605AS and DB605D engined aircraft which had a very simular "bulge" at the cowling, the picture shown there demonstrates the difference between a normal DB605A and a DB605D )

Pic5

The above pic is a Bf109F in trop configuration, WNr.31010(presumed). Highlighted in red is the cowl line, which, as you can see is pretty much straight.
(reference from: Bf109 Lair )

 ..

If I'm wrong, anybody please correct me, but from what I know, the '41 F-4, '42 G-2, and our '43 G-6 shouldn't have that "bulge" in the cowling line.

I'm not talking about the "wart" on the G-6 which accounts for the larger MG131 mountings. Note that our G-6 has both the supercharger bulge AND the MG131 "wart". IIRC, any later G-6 which was equipped with an AS engine would have also installed the new type of cowling which distinctly showed off the bulged area. The AH G-6 is a first time I've ever seen any Bf109 which has both the supercharger bulge and the MG131 wart!

The protruded bulge at the upper cowling line should only be present at the G-10. (or, any other future planned late-war Bf109s with DB605AS engines such as the G-6/AS or G-14/ASM.. or DB605D aircraft such as the Bf109K-4)

Also, some reference pics concerning the tail and rudders:

Upper part is from a Bf109 B, C, E

Middle part is a F and G

Under part is the taller wooden tail of the G-10 and the K-4

(reference from: Bf109 recognition points .. a small site with crude drawings, but shows clear differences nevertheless)

To me the rudder/vertical stab in F-4, G-2 and G-6 looks more like the high tail. It's hard for me to explain it in english exactly what I mean.

Basically the rudder separates from the vert. stab like the low tail does but the basic shapeis like on the high one.

Here's a skin Kanttori is working on:

And here's G-2 profile again:

Here's a link to a G-10 profile:

http://www.jiop.fi/ksimuseo/kuvat140903/Bf109G10right.gif

IMO the AH 3D-models' tails (F-4, G-2, G-6) clearly have the shape of the G-10's high tail.

I dunno the G10 high tail looks more "pointed" to me. The G6 / G2 looks wider and more "rounded". Maybe its a highbred of both.

Here's the G-6 I was working on (unfininshed pic here, I have since finished it with a few corrections).

The tail looks ok to me :)

Very nice skin there Batz! :)

The tail looks "better" from that angle as the picture distorts towards the side of the screen because of 90 degree field of view. ;)

Natedog,

Here's a reference I found on the G-2 front glass. It's a fairly poor reference as it doesn't have the armor glass I was talking about! :) But in the photo you can see that it has the rails your G-6 model has. Between those rails and the front glass itself there was a 6 centimeter armored glass.

The armored glass was probably removed as this particular G-2  (Black 6) was flyable and flown regurlarly until its accident in 1997.

And thanks Natedog for the better looking front fuselage for the F-4 and G-2 in beta 24!! :) :)

Natedog, do you think it'd be possible to make it so we can skin the bottom of the D9 more precisely?
atm the side texture stretches and doesn't allow JV44 red+white bands for example.
