Eagler,

I think you may have misunderstood me a bit here. What do you think I am? Do you think I'm not 100% behind the home team or something? If there were any way for me to do anything for Mr. Maupin I'd do it! I sincerely hope that he is rescued soon and that his captors pay the price with their lives. I hope their bodies are televised on Al-Jazeera and the western news.

Can't a guy be a patriotic American without also being elitist? Don't get me wrong here, either...I'm glad to have been born in the USA and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I'm not going to rub anyone's nose in it, however.

I think maybe my dismissal of the hive-mind mentality is what has caused you to get so upset. If you have a specific accusation to make, by all means come out with it.

By the way, the statement "ask Keith Matthew Maupin" was distasteful and shallow. What, should I start another thread or something? Call him? And what exactly should I ask him? Don't be silly. The best thing I can do for him is to keep praying. It's the only thing I have to offer at the moment.

guess what i was trying to say is that "We" are the sum of all of "our" actions as a Nation, past, present & future

and that the US soldier is being held captive for what "we" have done in the past and present as a country - his captors want "us" dead & gone

Doing ok over here VOR, as you can tell I am at the moment retired from AH until I can get a better schedule.

Still in the Navy reserve, no overseas deployment yet.

Other than that everything is still the same.

As I sit here and type this at 0517 I am still recovering from this weekend's drill.

Our entire Marine detachment here in Houston is being recalled so we had a bunch of lethernecks getting their shots, paperwork in order, and holding inspections. After seeing the look on thier faces I sure feel sorry for the people who will be on the recieving end of their fury.
