You reading this can take it for what you want. (obviously you will anyways.

There are three types of fights or activities carried out on Pizza Map.

1. Gang and vulch a feild till it is either captured or porked.

2. Roll a mission of 20+ fighters to an undefended base and capture it. (The steam rollor that steve talked about)

3. Play the roll of super strat nerd and milk factories all day and night.

Tonight Slapshot, Mars01, XtrmeJ and myself winged up and went out in search of a fight.

I can guarantee you they will agree with me when I say all that we found were cases of all of the above.

Any fight we found was so lop sided it was pathedic.

For those who say this map supports game play. Just what kind of game play are you basing your views on? I am all for stratiegic game play. I see it and participate in it on many other maps. This map offers none of that.

I could keep going on and on about why we shouldnt have this map in rotation. I wont because it doesnt matter what I think.

Im suprised after all the whining the Pizza is still in rotation. It was a terrible map from day one and still is. And that's not even including the terrible lag it causes.

Time it was trashed for good, only people that would miss it are the milkrunners. But when you see Base 289 captured. Who the F*** cares.  :lol

Of course it matters what you think. You're an AH customer, aren't you? OK, maybe you've got your dad paying the bill, but let's skip over that! ;)

All the gameplay scenarios you describe sound like the sort of thing I avoid on the small maps and/or US Prime Time. Looking through the various threads that have been posted, USPT seems to be the ganging hour.

Don't blame the map. Looking at threads like Urchin's thread, it becomes clear that the game has changed in the past two years. Actually the game hasn't changed at all, but the way people play it is very different. And people seem to have adopted the mentality of using the best plane for the job at all times, numerical supremacy smashdowns and pork-n-auger.

But it isn't always like that. On Monday afternoon I had an excellent session against Taki's squad. I believe Taki is Japanese so it was late evening for him. Some of the other guys might have been Australian/NZ etc. Read about it here.

In eliminating a number of attributes to be found on the small maps, Pizza opens up other opportunities. The front line is spread out, so people have a larger choice of front line combat points instead of only one or two. So folks are not compelled to fight in some mindless arcade furball. That battle with Taki's guys took place between 201 and 215. We had to fight it out upping from 215, which was about 4K lower than 201. As they pushed us back, the fight was between the bases instead of overhead the bases. When things weren't going our way, we had to fight it out like men - and not use Plan B - the dweeb copout option of upping LA7s from a base 1½ mins from the one being attacked and coming in to vulch. We lost 215, but there were lots of s all around. A very gentlemanly occasion. We were just lucky that our CV was sailing up the river just then, so then we had another bout! We eventually got 215 back.

I'm on temporary leave because of "burnout"

I took WWII Online as a mean to pass time, waiting for the burnout to cease, but I'm finding WWII Online quite rewarding, at the time being.

I'm saying this with a grain of sadness, because WWII Online air part is REALLY bad, for a number of things not to mention here, and I like a lot more air combat than ground war simulation.

BUT, to those who say that THIS is an air combat simulation game, just to point that WWII Online enriches this a lot because CAS missions are really meaningful and, as it should be IMHO, ground war do the actual ground taking but it'w quite impossible to do any good without air supperiority. Oh, and there are 2 historical sides, which, for me, is more immersive.

Having said this, I hope AH2 comes soon, as I really miss an environment where flying physics have some resemblance with what one like me would expect reality would have been.

When WWII Online air "experience" takes his toll, I randomly log on to AH....but, to be honest, the game don't hook me up like it used to do. The factors are:

    * No attrition. This factor changes totally the gameplay, I think for the better, and makes the player more cautious with his vehicle/plane....so less suicide-pork-dweebs
    * No diversity
    * Horde mentality, not really purpose-oriented, but only as a quick way to a vulchfest.
    * 99% of my fites are miles away from BFM, let alone ACM, but for the "break" and "tight turn" movements. Maybe I'm out of luck tho.
    * No historical sides (I know CT, but numbers are an important part, for me), that takes immersion out from the game, in my opinion.
    * Too soft and inaccurate AAA around fields. I don't know wether historycal, reallistic or what, but definitely makes the vulch thing way too easy.
    * No ground war whatsoever. GV model as it is now is like Air model in WWII Online.  :(

So all of you. I'm still showing deep signs of burnout, but will continue to log on from time to time. I realize newbies need a good drone like me...practice is everything...  ;)

the worst thing about the pizza sucks map is that it SEEMS to offer so much promise..

deep canyons..  waterways... fields everywhere and lots of em!  but then... the let down of actually playing it causes resentment and hate.   all the fields are so far apart that it is custom made for the building battlers and timid horde monkeies...  the sky accountants fill drop tanks and hde from anyone who might have anything close to equal E..  looking for the poor bored sole who has finaly nodded off or left for a bathroom break... nothing more exciting than "sneaking up' on a plane that never even bobbles and filling it with lead after an exciting 2 hour four hour hunt!  just like real knights of the sky!   Imagine how bad he will feel when he comes back from the head to no plane...   teach him  to take time to wash his hands after..

Got into great battle over 115.

GVs, Aircraft - no horde chocolate goodnessit about 5 - 6 players each side.

Tactical strikes against out gv hangar at 116, supply runs to shore that up from 117, more GV action, more arial engagements.

All in all a real blast - even the spawn campers couldn't keep the battle stalled.

I agree Lazs,

This map could be made enjoyable for everyone rather than only a select few.

I wish Hitech were able to see a balanced map makes a happy user community.  Right now the unbalanced maps are creating an unhappy community and polarizing us against each  other.
