Well aStar, if ya gotta go, ya gotta go. hehe
I too have family there, and have spent a great deal of time in Winnipeg (probably why I dislike it so much).

If I recall correctly the Museum of Man and Nature is actually very good and worth a tour. (not in the best part of town though, so don't leave any valuables in the car, and don't wander the area at night). Also the Planetarium is right near the museum as well.

You're right about the Garlic sausage and rye bread though.
Never could get a taste for headcheese.

Anyway...have fun, be safe.

Hmmmm, come to think of it there is a very fine Hooters right by the stadium... been escorted outta there a few times

(aStar wouldn't happen to have anything to do with AS350's would it?)

Cheers,
RTR

Hey fellows thanks for all the tips, BTW MPLS & St. Paul are
great areas, called on clients there, landed in St.Pl , private A/C
had a duck strike on my left wing ( Bonanza V-35 ) repoted to tower, apparently that is quite common, also had to vacate airport due to flooding to the MPL airport, was that interesting, they finnaly got a hold of me at 3M Corp. to notify me for imediate removal of my A/C:eek:
Born and raised in Wpg. (such is life) started the Winnipeg Glider Club there, was Pres. for two years before moving to Chicago. BTW I also was Pres. of the Edmonton Glider Club for 2 years.
Well I'm looking forward to seeing my son and relatives also to enjoy Garlic sausage/headcheese/rye bread and stuffed cabbage rolls
:aok
Again thanks fellows on your input.:)

If you enjoy reading, My favorite author John Sandford, the PREY
books is great, it's about Mpls & St.Paul area, detective and such.
If you are interested start with his first book, it sets up for the following writings. It also has the Fargo Grand Forks area covered at times, just a note to you;)

aStar, when were you involved with the soaring club there?

My brother used to fly with the winnipeg soaring club, back in the early 90's.

Maybe you know each other.
Cheers,

90's too late, came back to Wpg in 61 then left for Chgo 68 but
returned to glider port in 78 with V-35 Bonz. to visit club.
Haven't been to club since, but have been to Wpg in our 402 Cessna. Have him check records, I think I am recorded?
It was a great time in those early years:D
