Greebo had an idea in
another post. Only took me a second to figure out a minor variation on it.
Instead of giving the winners points, throw those points towards perk planes for the country that was conquered. Say the Bishops lose the war, and they get 240 points. Those 240 points would go to a pool of sorts for perk planes. Everyone who flys Bishops would effectively have an extra 240 perk points. If someone dies in a perk plane, Ta-152 for this example, the pool would lose 40 points; the cost of a Ta-152. Once depleted, you'd have to use your perk points.
The perk system, as I understand it, would reward people for flying a Hurricane I or Bf-109 E4. That reward would be in the form of a Komet, Ar-234, or some other Uber-plane/vehicle. In effect, saying "if you're willing to get your butt handed to you by P-51D or Fw-190D9 drivers time and time again we'll let you try an Me-262". Rewarding the few for getting blasted by the many.
On the same token, HTC should add an option controling the entire plane-set for offline/H2H play. The perk system couldn't work well in a H2H environment; unless control of that system is given to the host. A simple interface, similar to the field settings menu, would work. Below is a basic idea of what it would entail:
Points required per aircraft:
[could be done either with a fixed number for each perk plane, or a customizable number for each plane]Perked Aircraft:
[aircraft list here]Number of points given per kill of:
[aircraft list here; chose an aircraft then enter a number of points for killing it]Points per kill modifier:
[enter a number the points gained per kill would be modified with]Aircraft Available:
[aircraft list here; host can enable or disable an aircraft without fragging field settings]Perk system activated
[this is a push button]Well?
