Lose this setup forever?...

You've only been killed by it six times. You ain't doing too bad in the IX. Why don't you petition to have the perk cost raised instead of getting rid of it altogether? Oh wait ... that would mean only pilots with a fair amount of perkies could fly them - therefore possibly making them EVEN MORE of a menace! Oh no! A Spit XIV! Run away! :D

Double ... no triple .... wth .... QUADUPLE the XIV perk cost! Require a British accent!

p.s. The Spit IX will bounce the crap outa the SpitV and C205 ... AND can actually hold it's own against the XIV .... if flown halfway decent .... unless you're flyin against Shane or some such. ;)

I dont understand why the SpitIVX is there instead of the SpitIX on both sides. That is more historical and game balancing than the SpitIVX.
The P-51D is no threat and only has a total of 30 kills on everything.
The A-20 is still a piss poor sub for a bloody slowazz C-47.

Funny thing is, it should be more of a Bf-109 vs Spit V to begin with!

Cause alot of people wouldn't like the "split down the middle" skin, prolly. :D

The Spit "IVX" (where'd you learn your Roman numerals, man?) CAN be defeated by the Spit IX. Trust me.

I do find the history of the IAF to be very interesting, however, I dont think the 1948 or 1956 setups lend themselves well to a CT setup in AH. 1948 its mainly Spit vs Spit (and lets be honest, it was a very limited air war), and 1956 we dont have any of the Jets.

...so I vote "yes" to have the setup, but not in Aces High.

..1967 and 1973-82 is where it gets really interesting, but thats another era entirely.

Keep it, but change the G6 to an E4 and put the Spit 14 perk cost to 10-15.

The main reason 109g6 sunsits S199 is following:

1. S-199 has fuselage of 109g6 and another engine - so....
2. Ballance 109g6 machs very well with C205 allmost same speed, climb, but C205 has better manuvrability. So for game ballance reasons c205 vs 109g6 is best.
3. 109E is very good dogfighter - S-199 not

Hmm.... I may have come up with my next setup.....

"Galland's Wish"

A fantasy setup, what if Goering had listened to Galland and the germans were able to reverse engineer a captured Spit and field there own wing of uber planes.....

1944, Spit XIV vs Spit XIV.... oh it will be glorious....

Sounds good to me. Just make sure the Axis XIV costs more perks than the Allied XIV so nobody has to break out a fresh box of tissues when their mascara starts running.

The really fun part of this all is the Spit users themselves getting tired of Spits.

Refreshing moments for Axis-plane lovers I'd say. Mmm.. Come on m8s, gimme some more gripes about those Schmuckfires. It's popcorn for the soul.

Actually, on second thought, this set deserves to stay for that reason alone.

Hey, Grits. Did I tell ya that I had a dream that AH had Corsairs? And they were big and terrible! And they brought fear and loathing! FEAR AND LOATHING!

Yay Spits!

Hey ... I'm having fun ... flying whatever. :D

Lol arlo...

if you hadn't guessed I've turned into a rather large Hunter Thompson fan recently.  :)

And don't fret, if we don't get another pto setup before my turn is up again I'll probably run Okinawa so we can get our big blue fix in.

Skin problems. Could it be posible to name flight models per country? Like SpitIXEgypt, SpitIXIsreal, F4U-1FAA, F4U-1214, Bf109Jg54, P51DIsreal etc for TOD maps? Flight models would remain the same but skins would be different. I know AHII has 1,2,3 skin files but could this be done.......aw never mind:(

Hawk,

I don't know if the skin file will "translate" for lack of a better term to the icon reading above the aircraft in the game. That is a question better suited to the HTC staff.
