I went on a trip with my then girlfriend, now wife, to visit my family in AL and then to the Gulf Coast. We stayed at a hotel on Perdido Key on the way to Daytona to see my old man. We got back home to a cat in labor. Solid white stray that we picked up a couple years before. The first one out was almost all black, we named him Perdido. The last one out was solid white with one very blue, and one very gold eye. It took a week or so to name him, but his nursing habits ed us to name him Pig;)  The two in the middle were given to kids from my wifes preschool before we ever named em. Pig turned out to be a stereotypical tomcat, and lost all his weight on a one week stint 'lost' on the roof. He has recently (well, 9 months ago) hauled prettythang.

Perdido has however become the grandchild that our parents never wanted. An absolute ham, I couldn't get rid of the idiot if I wanted to. Big, fat, hairy and lazy, he is an attention sponge.

I need to get a hungry dog. Anyone got some pups?

I have a tan colored 18lb tabby tom cat I call Leo. His brother, a 19lb orange tabby was Red, he died year before last. We got Leo a couple of kittens to keep him occupied when we are at work. One is a mostly white with brown and black sploches (Sam, short for Samantha), and the other is mostly black with some brown, and white sploches, we call her Alex (short for Alexandria).

Leo is my bud, my shadow and is always around where I am (or whining to get to where I am). He always comes when I call him and he always greets me at the door when I come home. None of our cats are indiferent. They show lots of affection and are generaly very pleasant to be around. They love people, even strangers.

Whatever you decide to name your cats keep it short, preferably single sylable and no more than two sylables. I named our two females long names but only use the short version of them.
